Ice-Cold Hunter

Eli sighed as well. "When we've completed the mission and the whole team's made it out, then you can play your little games." He told Isaac. But only once they were finished would he allow Isaac to mess with Isabella's system in the ways he wanted to.

Obsessive Dabbler

Isaac grinned, cracking his knuckles. "A privilege," he answered easily, keeping an eye on their team through the security footage he'd hacked into. "Whatever you like." As long as he got to have his fun, he didn't mind waiting.

Ice-Cold Hunter

Eli turned back to the screen and focused on his team. As they turned corners, he directed them down the right paths. "Take a right here, but go slowly. There may be a sudden drop you need to pass over." He leaned back in his chair, observing everything with a sharp gaze. "Right there, that's the drop. Ease over it and don't make a soun-"

The screen cut away as another video call interrupted without him having the chance to accept it or not. "Eli! Damn, how does this thing work!" Sunshine screeched as her face appeared on the video as she spoke through the communicator. "They got Kit and Beth! Eli, hel-" But Sunshine was silenced and she and the screen dropped to the floor. She was knocked out, and River came into view, crying and reaching for the communicator before she was picked up by hands that were out of shot. Then the video screen went blank.

Obsessive Dabbler

"Damn it!" Isaac swore, dropping everything and pulling up security footage of their own base. Nothing seemed out of place, but he narrowed his eyes, tapping away furiously until the screens fuzzed, then refocused- he'd broken the loop their intruders had slipped into place while he'd been distracted with the other mission. "Eugene, damn it," he shouted, furious with his tech intern, who had supposedly been monitoring the security.

"Eli, get out there, call Leyla-" They had to do something! What the hell was going on?

Ice-Cold Hunter

Eli had been doing just that as he stood. He was completely torn, but he had to get Leyla to lead his team while he investigated what was going on in the base. Once he'd called Leyla and given her the rundown, he dashed out of the control room. From what he remembered, Kit had told him that she and Sunshine planned to have another lunch together with tea. As he raced around the base, checking every room he could think that his wife would be, he found no one.

And no one else in the base seemed to notice! Then he swore and looked up at the ceilings in each room, noticing that in his own, one of the tiles was askew.

Obsessive Dabbler

"Lock it down!" Isaac was shouting at his tech team, working furiously. "Air conditioning, exhaust, lock the damned garbage chutes if you have to, I don't want so much as a mouse-hole left open, you hear me? Everything locked down. Nobody leaves- no, not the standard locks, Eugene, you idiot." Whoever their enemies were, they had a hacker too. "Put it on final lock. Understand?" That program was one that was impossible to open by computer. There was no override- he had designed it in case of the need for a self imposed quarantine. "Final lock, Eugene." The doors would open again in two weeks' time- until then, nobody got in or out.

Ice-Cold Hunter

Everything closed down right as most of the perpetrators got out. The few left who had been carrying Kit got trapped inside, which secured their imminent doom. One of their men had spotted Sunshine in town one day and had recognized their face. Everyone knew about the American President's reward, so they'd planned to take action. Kit and the two little girls had gotten in the way, but had put up a struggle so they'd taken them with them. It looked like Kit was here to stay while Sunshine, Beth, and River were gone with the other intruders.

Eli deployed the rest of his men to search through every crevice of the base to find the intruders, knowing from the maps he'd brought up that there was a group in there somewhere. He had hope that their girls were safe.

Obsessive Dabbler

Isaac grabbed up his communicator, contacting their men and women throughout the town. They would work on tracking the intruders who had gotten out, and Isaac would scour the base itself for those that had remained.

Ice-Cold Hunter

Eli rushed around with his men as they worked to locate the intruders on the inside. When he was called, he headed to the northern part of the base and arrived just in time to see his workers pull the intruders from the ceiling. He was relieved when Kit was pulled out, and he took her into his arms. Then he noticed that Beth was not with her. He touched her face, trying to rouse her. "Kitten, Kitten I need to you to wake up."

Isaac was called by his informers on the outside. They didn't have good news. "They must be blending in with the crowd, Isaac. We keep finding more intruders but it's like hot potato out here. The bastards keep handing them off to each other. We don't think they're in the city limits anymore."

Obsessive Dabbler

Isaac exhaled. "Follow them," he ordered flatly. "I've activated Sunshine's tracking device, as well as River and Beth's." As a precaution, both babies had tracking chips hidden in all of their clothing. Isaac had never wanted to lose his family again. "Hunt them down. I don't care if any of those bastards live, just get Sunshine and the kids back here."

Kit had a nasty lump on her head, probably from when she'd been knocked out. Quietly, she moaned, flinching at the pounding in her head as she came to- and then she panicked. "Beth?," she demanded, trying to sit up.

Ice-Cold Hunter

"Roger that." Was the informant's last response before the call was ended.

Eli shushed Kit and stroked her hair. He shook his head, muscles tense. His chest was tight with grief from knowing that his daughter wasn't with her mother. Which could only mean that she'd been taken. "She's not here, but we're going to get her back."

Obsessive Dabbler

"They took her?" Kit was horrified, and angry. She fought to get to her feet, swaying a little. That knock to the head had left her dizzy. "I'm going to kill them," she stated flatly, bracing herself against the wall. The attackers that had been taken out of the ceiling with her were out of reach, or she probably would have gone at them then and there. "Let's go, Eli. Let's find her-" The doors weren't working. For a moment, she stared, then hit the code again, focusing on each number.

"..Can't get out?"

Ice-Cold Hunter

"We're on lockdown. We were hoping that we'd stop them in time." Eli's lips thinned into a straight, tight line as he tried to hold back his own anger. But he was now at the mercy of Isaac's outside informants. He tugged Kit back against him and helped her along through the corridors to reach Isaac so they were all informed about any signs of their girls.

Finally, Isaac got the call from his informants after many hours. "Sir, we've got the intruders surrounded." The informant told him as he watched the other informants take out the drivers and hold them hostage. After breaking the lock to the back of the truck, the doors were pulled wide open.

But there was no Sunshine, Beth, or River. Just pieces of clothing that had the tracking devices attached to them. The informant sighed and lifted the communicator to his ear again. "I'm sorry, sir. They're not here."

Obsessive Dabbler

Isaac stared at the communicator in his hands for a few seconds, and then he snapped, hurling it across the room. It smashed into a computer screen, shattering the glass, and Isaac whirled, hurling a chair out of his way before he left the control room. In the hall, he sank to his knees, tears of anger and pain running down his face as he struggled to regain control. His baby girl! What kind of man would take a child? Not to mention, Sunshine- gods, Sunshine. He'd told her they were safe here.

Kit was just as broken hearted, and she sobbed into Eli's chest. Why would they take Beth? She hadn't had anything to do with any of this! "Oh- god- Eli, what if.." What if they decided Beth was more trouble than she was worth? They didn't need her. Kit couldn't bear to think it.

Ice-Cold Hunter

Eli had the intense urge to follow Isaac's lead, but Kit was in his arms, and he had to comfort her. He could smash all the communicators he wanted, but that wouldn't help his daughter or Isaac's family. Eli blinked away the tears that burned in his eyes. Standing around wasn't going to get his baby girl back. "Isn't there a way to override this lockdown!" He shouted as he pulled away from Kit to contact all the other techies they had. "Do everything you can to get these ******** doors open!" He raged before leaving the control room and heading to their armory.

"Ravid, get me the biggest gun we have." He told the man through his earpiece as he stormed through the halls. If they couldn't override the system, he was going to blow the doors down.
