Alexis could see the sorrow in his eyes and wanted to comfort him now but she didn't know how to do such. When he kissed her she kissed him back and could tell he wanted her to stay there and not leave. She looked at him when he pulled away and brushed her thumb over his cheek when he spoke, "You won't. I will never stop loving you no matter what happens." Alexis wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him close and nuzzle his neck. "I will never leave you." She told him quietly as she held him. Alexis didn't like seeing him so upset, it hurt her emotionally.

Their roles had completely switched within the last ten minutes, but Jason really was terrified of what would happen when she wasn’t around. Why was this day so hard? “I’m afraid.” He admitted in a whisper. He put his head in her shoulder and sighed softly. He remained there for a while, taking some comfort in her arms around him. She hadn’t forgotten him yet. He still had some time. “We’re going to be late for the party.” He said softly.

Alexis knew he was afraid, it was clear and she didn't want him to be. She wanted him to have trust that it will be okay in the end. Alexis didn't mind sitting there with him for however long he wanted to, she wouldn't push him to move or anything like that. When he mentioned the party she chuckled a bit, "Do you want to go? I won't make you be there for longer than an hour." Alexis knew he was having a hard time with his injury and not telling people what happened so she didn't want to force him into anything he didn't want to do.

When Alexis asked if he wanted to go, Jason pulled back a bit so he could look at her. “No, not really. But you said we would and little kids remember promises like that.” He sighed again and shook his head. Birthday parties were significant events for people. It was probably the most significant thing in Mary’s life right then. Missing it when they said they would go would be rather hurtful for the little girl. “So unless you want to be a liar, we have to go.”

Alexis smiled as he told her that they had to go because she promised they would. "You have a much different attitude than you did yesterday. We can go for a bit." She told him with a smile and gave him a light kiss before pulling away completely and starting to move out of his lap so they could go. Alexis would need to brush her hair and do a few other things before leaving the room though. She hoped he would cheer up and would write in her journal when she could as to not worry him any further about her memories.

“I still don’t want to go.” Jason replied impetuously. “We just have to, that’s all.” He kissed her back and let her off his lap so she could get ready. His clothes were wrinkled now and so he changed out of them and ran a comb through his hair. He didn’t really feel better but they had pressing engagements. He couldn’t mope around forever. He would get back to it later. He finished buttoning up his new shirt and walked up to Alexis to see if she was ready.

Alexis rolled her eyes as he said he still didn't want to go and didn't think he would be this bothered by a six year old. "What is your problem with children?" She asked him curiously as she brushed through her hair and grabbed a v-neck short sleeved shirt to change into for a better appearance. Alexis pulled her hair into a ponytail when Jason came to see if she was done, she took his hand and started walking out of the room while waiting for his response about children.

Jason shrugged when she asked what his problem with children was. “They’re odd. And I haven’t really been allowed to do anything with them since becoming a demon.” He squeezed her hand and followed her as they walked down the hallways. “They’re protected when they’re young. Not that they can’t ever be hurt. I did plenty of damage via the adults in their lives. But not them directly. Also, I have no interest in a tea party with a bunch of six year olds.” That was up there with kittens. He’d bent on that one, but this was a bit far.

Alexis listened to him talk about his view on children and could see this part of his demonic view would be a bit difficult to crack. "Excuse me, this is my second cousin. What if we have a daughter though? You will have to deal with tea parties and six year old girls." She told him as if trying to get him used to the idea of seeing children and spending time with them. "I don't see the actual problem, maybe because the past four years my part time job was babysitting children." Alexis mused and thought about that idea but looked over at him as they walked down the stairs and headed towards the door that led to the garden where the small party was being held.

Jason laughed when she asked about their own daughter, to which he shrugged and said, “Our daughter will like sword fights and rock climbing. We can do that for her sixth birthday.” He rolled his eyes as she said she didn’t see the problem. That was because she was a generally loving person who liked other people. Jason was not. When they entered the garden, Jason started looking around for a place to lurk so he wouldn’t be intruding on the party.

Alexis rolled her eyes when he said their daughter would be more into sword fighting and rock climbing. "We will let her choose, if she chooses tea parties then she will have them, if she chooses sword fighting then she can do that." She told him and didn't think they would talk about it anymore. Alexis wasn't going to let him force their children into anything they don't love. When they got to the garden there was a small grassy area with a fancy table and a bunch of girls in old Victorian style dresses but without the corsets of course. They sat at the table enjoying the sweets Marianne had made earlier while Sarah, Mark, and Marie stood nearby but didn't interfere with them. Mary was the first to notice them come on and she jumped out of her chair then ran towards them, her big dress seeming to slow her down a bit but she hugged Alexis and waved at Jason, "You're here! Hey, what happened to your hand?" She asked and looked at Jason. Alexis knelt down and tapped the girl's nose, "I accidentally hit his hand in the door and hurt it, that is why you should always be careful." Mary nodded like she was concerned about it happening to her then got distracted by another girl at the table and ran back to her spot.

Alexis smiled and directed Jason towards the adults and smiled at them, "Are they enjoying themselves so far?" Alexis asked them. "Yes they are, they have played around a bit then Granger brought these out and they just started eating them." Sarah said and looked at Jason, "What did happen to your hand?" She asked when Alexis answered again, "I really did hit his hand in the car door on accident, I was opening it for him from the inside and my hand slipped. The door swung back and slammed his hand between the frame and the door. I feel awful for it." Alexis knew Jason didn't want them to think he had anger issues so she would put the blame on herself for his broken hand, it would sound better than him punching a tree.

Jason gave Mary a smile when she ran over and was about to open his mouth to say something about his hand when Alexis answered for him. He wasn’t sure if he should be grateful she was taking the blame or sad that she felt the need to lie for him. He felt a little ashamed that she needed to, but he didn’t want to say she was lying and make his fiancé look bad in front of her family. “It wasn’t her fault.” He said. “Really it was mostly mine.” It was entirely his. “I could have stopped it.”

Alexis looked over at him as he talked about it being his fault at well for not stopping it. She shrugged and didn't comment on it though as a way to signal they didn't need to say anymore. "I am glad you two could come though. I know she enjoys it even if you aren't an active part." Mark said then looked back at the girls to make sure they didn't get hurt because Sarah was talking to Mary about the dresses and where they came from. Alexis listened in on the two woman and didn't know if Jason was paying attention though he probably wouldn't have any interest in it. Mark was quiet as he made sure they were careful, if someone looked close enough they could see Mark and Mary had no similar genetic features between the two outside of Mary looking more like Sarah.
