Also....to those ppl who said FT Island and CN Blue are underrated....uh...not so much LOL. Those guys are mad popular and getting more so everyday, they haven't reached overrated yet, but they're no where near underrated. U-Kiss and Infinite are also gaining immense popularity...IU she shouldn't even be mentioned in underrated. Underrated is like Soulman, Kebee, Transfixion, Hot Potato,,,,ppl who most so called korean music lovers have never heard of.

ALso Piggy Dolls rule! lol

Underrated: XLR8 -a new filipino boy band that i highly suggest you look up. i guess you can call this p-pop (pinoy pop).

IU is kind of underrated among foreigners. She may be a rising K-pop soloist and becoming popular among the Koreans, but how many foreigner K-pop fans know about her? I mean, she's hardly ever talked about among foreign K-pop fans. Yesterday during an International Student Club meeting at my college where we spam-watched music videos from popular artists from around the world on Youtube, I put on IU's Good Day MV and nobody knew who the heck she was.

Though most of my favorites are overrated (2PM, MBLAQ, 2NE1, ect...) I still like them for their personality, and what they bring to their concerts and the variety shows they appear on. They have do still have talent, even if they are mainstream.

I think that Snsd is only popular because there are a bunch of "attractive" chicks in it, that couldn't sing to save their life. It's true that most groups are only popular for their looks, but there are a few in what some people would call overrated groups that have phenomenal talent, whether it be in singing or dancing.

That's just my opinion though~ Dun eat meh.

Only singers I know so far in SNSD who can actually sing are Taeyeon and Seohyun. I haven't heard the others yet, but I heard that Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Jessica, and Yoona are the worst singers in the group.

I DO like both of these bands. But their fandoms make them out to be far more than they are.
Oshare Kei in general is overrated in general, IMO. But that's probably just because I can't stand it.

I think Girugamesh are pretty underrated. I know they're kinda popular, but for the most part when I talk to other fans I get the feeling that they just like them because they're Japanese and have a bit of a 'darker' image. I especially feel sorry for them now, since they're trying to do new things and being called all sorts of names for it. It's not even like their new stuff is bad. It's just not 13's Reborn, which everyone seems to idealise.
Also Ghost were very underrated. And then they split... ;3;

WHEN I SEARCH FOR BEAST, I EXPECT VIDEOS OF BEAST, HRAWRGARAHKJERAKR.

*About The Seeker. I wish wish wish people would stop only knowing them as "that Gravitation band" already and actually appreciate them for what they were! '^' But at least they know them at all.

The Seeker was a good band, although I always thought it was funny at how pretty D.K. would makes himself up and yet the crowd screams the loudest for K.Ito no matter how dull and boring his outfit is. And yes Gravitation is how I first stumbled on the whole DA Family's world and in fact started my whole 'really got to find some cool music' search in the world of Japanese music.

As for the topic's questions:

Overrated: To me that would be bands like Alice Nine, Dir en grey, SNSD, The GazettE, and so on. I listen to their music and yes there are a few good songs, but usually it all blends into each other too easily.

Underrated: There's a lot of them out there that don't get the interest like they should. Bands like 9GOATS BLACK OUT, and Kagrra, and SCARECROW, and on and on and on.
