This thread will be updated on a daily basis, along with giving you the bands past history. We are here to keep you up to date with everything TVXQ, that includes JYJ. Please stay chat and enjoy all the hard work the band and thread owners have done.

Dong Bang Shin Ki (동방신기/東方神起/DBSK/TVXQ/TVfXQ/Tohoshinki; translates to "Rising Gods of the East," ) is internationally-known acapella-pop quintet. The group consist of Kim Jaejoong, Jung Yunho, Park Yoochun, Kim Junsu, and Shim Changmin. TVXQ debuted at a December 26, 2003 Christmas Showcase along side BoA and Britney Spears; where they performed their debut song "Hug," and sang an accapella reindition of "O Holy Night," along side BoA. They soon released their first single (Hug,) followed by their first album, Tri-Angle. 2004 proved their debut to have been a success, with the boys taking home the Best New Artists award at four separate award shows.

After exponential success in Korea, the group made their Japanese debut under the Avex Entertainment sub-label Rhythm Zone with their first single "Stay With Me Tonight." 2005 was another winning year for the group, with them taking home three awards for "Rising Sun."

Their success culminated into their first Asia-tour, the Rising Sun 1st Asia Tour, and the groups first Japanese album, Heart, Mind and Soul. And it didn't stop there; six tours, five albums, and two singles were release from 2005 - 2010. After countless awards and nearly six years as The Rising Gods of the East, the groups activites were put on hold. Hero, Xiah, and Micky chose to take legal action against their Korean label, SM Entertainment, and, as of April 3, 2010, all activities of the collective five-member group have been put on hiatus.

As of January 2011, the group is under a 3:2 split, with Hero, Xiah, and Micky forming a group separate from their label . After a year and a half hiatus, U-Know and Max (known tentatively as TVXQ,) released their comeback album under a two-member unit group, Why?(Keep Your Head Down).

Hero, Xiah, and Micky's group is known as JYJ (Jaejoong-Yoochun-Junsu.) the group debuted under Avex, and held several small fan-signings and gatherings, followed by their first concert in June 2010, the Thanksgiving Live at the Tokyo Dome. Due to legal complications, they were unable to perform any of their songs previously released under the name TVXQ. The group released a Japanese-language mini-album titled The. . . in September 2010, before complications with the groups Korean-based agent CJeS lead to Avex putting the group on an indefinite hiatus.

In October 2010, JYJ released their English global debut album, The Beginning, and followed it up with their first international tour, including three free showcases in the United States. The group finished with a bang with a two day showcase in Seoul. The group then went on to release an independant album consisting entirely of self-composed music, entitled JYJ Music Essay, Our Rooms.

●DongBangShinKi/DongBangShinGi : the original TVXQ thread ran from May 16th, 2005, up until October 26th, 2008, and hosted 856 pages of TVXQ-related discussion and goodtimes. It lacked an introduction and any information of the band, and was abandoned by thread-members in favour of a new thread.
●.:[동방신기]_-Official DongBangShinKi Thread- : the official thread ran from December 16th, 2006, up until January, 2011. It is dearly loved by all who were a part of it, and ran for over 1325 pages. Unfortunately, the main pages were negelected to be update, and a lack of moderation prompted the thread members to leave it in favour of a new thread that was up with the times.

This thread adopts the Korean Cassie stance on the group split. This means that we are fans of the original group, meaning we love and support all five members; JYJ and Homin. We acknowledge and accept that the TVXQ fandom is undergoing a split, and encourage individual opinion on the matter. However, please note that this is not a free liscence for bashing or ignorance, and we will not indulge any such drivel.

However, it is the threads stance that we do not discriminate against personal opinion. It is okay to only like JYJ, or only like Homin - or even, to only like Changmin, or Junsu, ect. Expressing this is completely okay and appropriate; you may even go as far as to say you dislike a certain member. And example of an acceptable statement is;

● I don't really like/understand why people like Jaejoong. He just doesn't do it for me. I don't really like him.

This kind of expression is non-confrontational and fine. In contrast, unacceptable behavior is as follows;

● Wow, I really hate Jaejoong. He's stupid and ugly. I don't get how you guys can like him, he's obviously a (explicit statement.) Seriously, you're all idiots.

This statement is needlessly malicious and hateful. Such a statement is fodder for conflict, and falls under "hurtful/offensive statements," that of which is frowned upon in this thread. Anyone found making such statements will be issued a warning.

As fans, we understand that the emotions tied to the current situation are numerous and conflicting. We welcome new fans as well as old, and accept fans of only JYJ, and fans of only the New TVXQ. We acknowledge these as similar but different fanclubs that fall under the Cassiopeoia umbrella. We acknowledge the terms Cassiopeia for the Original TVXQ, Orion for JYJ, and Gemini for TVXQ - however, these terms are experimental and vocational, and it is not necessary to attribute yourself to them if you don't want to. We acknowledge that a fan may be of one of these clubs, any combination of them, or all of them.

You will be allowed three warnings before a ban is considered. Bans will last for a period of two weeks, during which time you will not be allowed to post to the thread. After which you will be welcomed back into the community under a probation period of one week. A permanent ban and blacklisting will only be issued to repeat offenders that refuse to relent.

That said, we understand that stress runs high, and you may say things you do not entirely mean. If this is the case, please pm one of the listed mods with the subject titled as "Ban," and explain the reasons you think you're ban was unnecessary. The moderation team will consider your reasons and contact you with their chosen course of action.
