Hallo and Welcome to the Official dARI gaia thread! I am TokioHotelFanGirlTomBill, but you can just call me Tokio. I am the moderator of this thread and have no intent whatsoever to make a better intro, because I can't, and people who know me know this as well. So let's get right down to it.

This is a thread for all of those international fans of this band. A place where you can talk about the members, upcoming albums, favorite songs, and any other news that you happen to find. Sharing pictures and video footage of these four musical wonderboys is a part of this thread as well.

I welcome you to the italian world of dARI and I hope you enjoy your stay.

The band started out in Aosta in 2003 as DaRi, a solo project consisting of only Dario Pirovano, singer and producer. DaRi released 2 albums independently, CoSaVoGlIoDiRe (WhAtIwAnTtOsAy) in 2004 and misonfattocasa (ijustsettled) the next year. The two records featured songs that would later be re-recorded for i dARI's breakthrough album. In 2004, Alberto Oscarelli and Francois Domaine, a.k.a. Dj Alba and Cianci, joined in with DaRi, as DJ/keyboardist and bassist, turning the solo project into a band: i dARI. Eventually Fabio Cuffari, and old friend of DaRi, joined as new bassist, moving Cianci to the position of drummer. In 2006, "DaRi promo-cd" was recorded, a demo EP with only two songs on it. By 2006 Dj Alba and Cianci had left the band, replaced by Andrea Cadioli (a.k.a. Cadio) on synth, and William Novelli (a.k.a. Willy) on drums. The following year LoveGain, their first real album as a band, was released independently. It featured a number of older songs re-recorded. After playing at festivals like Rock Targato Italia, Tavagnasco Rock Festival and Arezzo Wave, they were discovered by producer Massimo Gabutti, from Bliss Corporation (BlissCo.), who was looking for new artists for his new sublabel Fondazione Sonora.

I dARI started recording in November 2007, with producers Domenico Capuano and Federico Maladrino. Sottovuoto Generazionale (generational subvoid), their first album, was the result. The album consisted of mainly re-recordings of songs that appeared on all of the previous albums. The first single, 'Wale (Tanto Wale)' and its video, appeared on YouTube during March 2008 and also aired on Italian TV station All Music and the Italian MTV. Later during March 2008, the drummer Willy left the band, soon replaced by Daniel Fasano, a.k.a. Fasa.

In 2009, they released a new album, Sottovuoto: d-VERSION, which contained remixes and live versions of old songs, plus a spanish version of Wale (Tanto Wale), called Wale (Lo Que Wale).

* In May 2008 the band's signed to EMI Italia.
* In summer 2008, the band play various TV shows.
* 12th September 2008 - their first album 'Sottovuoto Generazionale' comes out and it takes #12 in Italian music charts.
* In October 2008 they have their first big Italian tour and they publish their second single 'Tutto Regolare'.
* In March 2009, their third single is out, called 'Non Pensavo' feat. Max Pezzali. In April they publish their first autobiography book, called 'TUTTOdARIFARE' and on 8th May you can await their EP 'Sottovuoto D-Version'!
* In May 2009 they won the TRL award as 'Best new artist'!

How did you find out about dARI?

I found out when i was looking up Rom3o Nightingale for Cinema Bizarre and a picture of him and Cadio came up. I looked up dARI because it was in the picture headline thing.

Dario of course, he's super cute!

Through the german Band Cinema Bizarre, dARI opened up for them, at one of their Italian shows.

Do I have to have a favorite? How about Cadio, because we make fun of him, but Fabio’s hair is fabulous, dan seems so chill, and Dario is just a giant adorable dork.

You know I think I’d grab, Fangirl, Tari and the CB guys, then us along with dARI, we can all run around and have an insane party in the street.

I'm not used to this emptyness . . . It's so strange! *feels around on first page* Wow, it still has that new-thread feel. I guess I'll have to dominate this thread too. Starting, of course, with the questions. 8D

How did you find out about dARI?
I was lurking through the Cinema Bizarre videos, and someone uploaded a video of 'some italian band' that opened for them. And that 'italian band' justsohappened to have a really good song. A little more searching, and dARI became alive in my world.
Who's your favorite member?
Honestly, I can't choose. Cadio is just so Romeo, Dari is just all-around bipolar, Fabio's hair and makeup is just pure greatness, and Dan has that sneaky 'dun look at me while I steal this, that, and the other thing' vibe.
What's your favorite song?
Hm, Predisposta is my first choice, but only if it's sped up by 100% (and pitch down ~43). I really love their new song Cercasi AAAmore too ^ ^ Moltiplicato 10 is also great on 50% speed (and pitch down 22), and it's just so cute the way Dari says 'amore' in Minimale Maxibene.

If you could hang out with the guys for a day, what would you do?
Firstly, I'd proceed directly to being stepped on by Dari. I have a horrible time with stuff like that. Then, I'd take Cadio's keyboard and throw it at Innocent Bystander Dari, because he may be a bystander, but he's far from innocent. Then I'd spend a few hours staring at Fabio, wondering if his hair really grows out purple, because I swear it does. He just looks so weird without purple hair. And then, 10 minutes before they'd have to leave, I'd remember that I forgot someone. Now if only I could remember his name . . . And while I would be thinking, I'd stab Dari with a tranq dart and give him as a present to my bestest friend Rainbows. Because if I got Dari, the whole band would follow.

Aww tari how sweet… you would give me Dario’s giant self unconscious… I have no idea what I would do with that… possibly place him in the closet so that whenever Romeo angers me I can have our 6’7” Italian step on him… *sigh*

Don't put him in a closet. I simply cannot resist jokes like that. Ever. And you'll have to take him out of there eventually (for, like, walks and stuff), and I'll be ready with the "Oh, coming out of the closet now, are we, Dari?" jokes. surprised I can't help it.

I agree. But I have a habit of liking bands that absolutely no one has heard of (*ahem*Helalyn Flowers*ahem* ), so I don't think I'd be the best person to help with that.
