I don't know a lot about the technical aspects of music, but I know what I like, I suppose, and Gackt's music (for the most part --- there are some bits that annoy me) really impresses me. Watching him play the piano just blows me away, too.

And a couple songs have sentimental value. whee heart

They really do, and I like the way he changed his voice from MM to his solo stuff cause when most people go solo they stay the same and it just gets me like "Why leave the old band if you are gonna sound the same?" Most people never agree with me on this, but that's okay! whee

*nod* It's so hard for me to decide which I like better: Gackt when he was with Malice Mizer, or solo. Malice Mizer is my main j-rock love above all, and some of my favourite songs by them (namely Syunikiss and Bel Air) are from when Gackt was with the band.

Same here, and I don't really like to choose what I like better when it comes to music cause it's all different in ways, which is what I like 3nodding . Also I really like those two songs too.

My favorite song of his is Secret Garden. It came up on shuffle on my ipod when I was walking to the library. As soon as it reached the chorus, I literally stopped dead in my tracks and my mouth fell open. It was beautiful. I also like his songs Rain, Lu:Na, Vanilla, Illness Illusion, Speed Master, Redemption, Oasis, and many others...

I like the style of his music as well. It's really pretty and different. It took me a little while to accept his voice, but once I got used to it I really liked it and enjoyed his vocals. Overall, I find him very unique, and admire him. ^^

Since when does plastic surgery = ugly? I won't deny that he's probably had quite a bit done, though (biggest example is his nose during > post Malice Mizer). But having done so shouldn't be basis for calling him ugly. If anything, it's made him look better. imo.
