Vagabondage
I recommend any and all Wes Anderson and/or Guy Ritchie films. I'm a huge fan of both directors and they have amazing stuff.

mte
Moonrise Kingdom was A+

Wristcutters: A Love Story
I swear it's not as depressing as it sounds, it's actually my favorite movie xD

...Of your thoughts.

I love that film! I also love Amelie, The Science of Sleep, Unmade Beds..

Netflix has an over abundance of indie movies and for a while that's all I watched.
Malice in Wonderland (which looked like a tv movie except for how racey it could get at times) was pretty good. INK was my absolute favorite, with the intwined stories and fascinating characters. Wilby Wonderful is fabulous with such amazing characters (due South fans have other reasons to love it) and Hardcore Logo because... Callum Keith Rennie, that's why.

I had a friend who really liked indie movies and recommended a few to me. I don't remember most of them anymore, but I do remember Pi (not the new movie "Life of Pi", just Pi), and The Cube. Then there was one that had to do with Christmas in Australia (which is when I learned that Australia's seasons are reversed from us here in the US.. which makes sense, I just never thought about it), but I can't remember the name of it.

Conservative Gawker

Blindness. A scene in the middle of the movie was really unnerving and sad, but it was entertaining as a whole nonetheless.
Amelie was good, but holy hell my favorite has to be Ink.

Garbage Fox

Fargo
500 Days of Summer
Grosse Point Blank
Little Miss Sunshine
Lost In Translation
Memento
Rachel Getting Married
Ten Inch Hero
Winter's Bone

Rosemary's Baby

Winter's Bone. It's with Jennifer Lawrence and John Hawkes.
"An unflinching Ozark Mountain girl hacks through dangerous social terrain as she hunts down her drug-dealing father while trying to keep her family intact."

The Darjeeling Limited. Adrian Brody, Owen Wilson, and Jason Schwartzman.
"One year after their father's funeral, three brothers travel across India by train in an attempt to bond with one another."

Wheezing Lunatic

Ed Wood
500 Days Of Summer
Memento
Lost In Translation
Into The Wild
(not sure if its indie or not, but still fantastic)
Nosferatu
City Of God
What's Eating Gilbert Grape?
The Way
Whale Rider

Shy Smoker

to add to the majority of the titles mentioned here, i'd have to say donnie darko.
and for something a little lighter, maybe once. it's a musical but the acting isn't so bad.

Raider

Dead Poets Society

Lonely Smoker

Amelie and In Between Days

I was gonna say that one too! It was great! I want to find it on DVD. Here are some movies...
Hard Candy
Donnie Darko
Trailer Park Boys
Strangers with Candy
Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie
The Room with Tommy Wiseau
Rubber. A little used tire rolls around and blows things up with its mind, complete with snarky social commentary about the viewers!

By far my favourite indie movie, even if it does reek of hipster. biggrin
