i can never tell whats indie and whats mainstream. a few movies on here are mainstream to me.
therefore i can not say that these movies are indie:
- you cant take it with you=old movie with jimmy stewart. great film.
-girl with the pearl earring=visually stunning. seriously.
-the life aquatic= just for the giant set of the ship that they walk through.
-le moustache= french film that was amusing with its premise.

I wonder - do we think that Girl with the Pearl Earring is indie or obscure enough? Because if we do...it gets my vote. It's one of my go-to movies when I want to really feel something...It as directed very well...

Independent movies are not necessarily not mainstream. As long as it's not produced by a Hollywood-esque studio then it's independent.

Obscure are movies that are not mainstream.

Some of my fave obscure titles:

1. Head (with the Monkees)
2. Wild Zero
