Not really. But some people love it so I kind of assumed I missed something. I found it quite sad but in a mocking way which didn't sit well with me.
'Secretary' is one hell of a crazy film! I saw it years ago when it first came out on video...
'Let the right one in' was good, but the whole transgendering thing kind of threw me for a minute.
Anyone ever seen any of john waters lesser known films; like desperate living? Im watching it now, its insane, for sure!

it's definitely an interesting film, plus it has that ridiculous girl from princess diaries and hostel 2.

Anything Beatles related that ISN'T Across the Universe count?

Because I love Yellow Submarine and I don't know many people that saw it.

I like A Hard Days Night but I wouldn't consider it indie or obscure. Just me though.
kinky boots was fantastic

So...I've noticed some upset over the fact that there is little talk of actual Indie/Obscure films....here are a few of my favs...let me know what you think. Feel free to talk about one in particular or make a list of your own:

A few of my recent favorites are:
Secretary**
Henry Poole is Here
Teeth
Birds of America
The Wackness
Pizza
Let the Right One In**
He Was a Quiet Man

I only saw that one. Josh Peck really grew up didn't he. anyway, My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Indie movie is Wristcutter's; a Love story. ever see it?

Actually I liked Wristcutter's...definitely bleak and middle of the night movie materias....but I had completely forgotten about it. I watched it when it came out a few years ago. Patrick Fugit is so underrated...he's in the new Cirque Du Freak but I can't comment because I actually haven't sat through the movie...

PS - Josh Peck does well...he's not my fav actor but he def has something going for him...

If you like that movie you might also like

MirrorMask is like the entire Wizard of Oz series...morphed. Interesting movie. The woman that plays Helena is fabulous...she played Mina in the made-for-tv Dracula movie that came out a few years ago...

I've now seen Let the Right One In and Teeth.

LtROI was definitely an original take on the vampire story, but I found the pacing to be slow. I do like how the story wrapped up in the end. Some of Eli's lines (I watched it subbed) were well written.

Teeth is a movie I would show my friends (who could handle it). Some of the casting was great, some I didn't agree with. The guys got what they deserved, though.
does wristcutters : a love story count ?

Absolutely! In fact we were just discussing the movie a few days ago...good choice
1. Jan Svankmajer's "Alice", a stop-motion masterpiece, is my favorite movie of all time.
2. In second place is Guy Maddin's "Brand Upon the Brain!" a surrealist black and white silent(ish) movie that is just too good. It has everything, including one of the best soundtracks ever.
3. Delicatessen, and also City of Lost Children. They're both French and by the same director, whose name eludes me.

I want to see Wristcutters, I'm a sucker for dark humour.
