Hello there! I'm a bit new to horror films, tbh. When I was younger, I was never really interested in them, despite a couple, but recently, I've become quite obsessed with the horror genre; movies, games, stories, you name it.

So far I've seen:

Ringu (The Japanese original version of The Ring, and one of my new favorite movies of all time)
Silence of the Lambs (another favorite)
Kairo (Japanese original version of Pulse)
The Grudge
The Grudge 2
The Grudge 3

I've been wanting to watch the Juon films (original Japanese grudge movies) as well as One Missed Call, Audition and a ton of classics. Recommendations?

I have a few I like:
The Saw Movies (Dilemma filled and mind bending.)

The Possession (They claim it is based off of a true story)

Final Destination (I don't drive behind trucks anymore)

Cube (This one gave me a kick. If you are into mind bending ones.)

Tucker and Dale versus Evil (I enjoyed this one a lot because it was a refreshing take on horror)

The Nightmare on Elm Street series (Classic gold)

Insidious (I had a hard time sleeping afterwards)

Friday the 13th (I feel bad for Jason Voorhees)

Scream (Suspenseful)

The Reanimator (Lore based on H.P. Lovecraft's works. I had to look away in the later half of the movie in an intense sence.)

I would advise any films based on Stephen King's works.

I am watching more as I go but these are my recommendations.

Have a good time film watching!

Audition is very very slow, its a beautifully shot movie but if you've seen any clips of it you basically spoiled the last 5 min of the movie. Still give it a watch, but its not the hype everyone puts on it. If you like Interesting and creepy movies look up dogtooth. Or let the right one in. Or ghost in the shell the original 1994 anime film. For gorey blood bath there's american psycho, hostel 1 & 2 don't watch the 3rd for the love of god. Also evil dead, rosemarys baby, the exorcist, housu or hausun I can't remember. Battle royal, I'm running on steam but I'll get back to you.

Tiny Pup

not a horror film but you should watch old boy, simple bc its really good.

Galactic Shapeshifter

Thirteen ghosts
Cabin in the woods
Jeeze just taking a look at netflix is a good Idea~

It's on Netflix with English subs. Plus the second one is now available!
Wish Jacob's Ladder was on Hulu or Netflix. Been wanting to watch that for a long time.

Professional Roisterer

I'd highly recommend the Babadook. I saw it recently and it affected me more deeply than most horror movies do; it manages to be straight up horror as well as psychological horror, while actually having a solid, cohesive message beyond just being scary.
The first 3 Extremes Was really good, theres also a 3 Extremes 2 but I haven't seen it.

Infection, Marebito, the Art of the Devil series, Goth, Carved: The Slit Mouthed Woman and The Locker are just a few I can think of.
This is a wonderful list of horror, many obscure, that I'm trying to go through myself, if you care for beautiful but creepy aesthetics, set design, costume, etc:

Not on that list I also recommend:
The Innocents
Picnic at Hanging Rock (more of a creepy mystery film)
Guillermo Del Toro films: Cronos, The Devil's Backbone, Pan's Labyrinth

Also:
The Thing (1982 film)

Adorable Ace

I'll just place The Babadook here.

It's not really the scariest film, but it definitely has a good creep factor and is really suspenseful.

Plus, I mean, look at him.
