Why do people seem to be under the impression that the Twilight series is independent/obscure?

I was just wondering the same thing. It is one of the most marketed categories for teenage girls at the moment.

Are you kidding? The acting looks like s**t and those are supposedly the good parts. It's like they just picked these people because they look like the characters with no actual auditions whatsoever.
