I love J horror. Audition is my favorite. Korean horror is also good.

One of my favourite asian horror films. Starts with the gore right off the bat. If you want to continue the story, check out Noriko's Dinner Table, a sequel to Suicide Circle.

Recently, I saw Hausu on TCM. Seriously WTF. It's from the 70s, I think, and I haven't seen many contemporary ones but right now I'm looking for one that peaks interest.

each culture has such a unique cinema industry
that it's unfair to compare them
by all means, have a favourite
but each is so different

for example
if i want to watch an exploitation film
i usually go for an italian director

if i want spine-chilling horror or absurdist gore
japanese

horror with inflections of social realism
britain or maybe france
and so on

and yes
i have seen suicide club
