I've found that many TV shows I enjoy have only lasted three seasons or less. With the recent demise of HBO's Bored To Death, I've decided to dedicate a thread to great TV shows that aren't given as long of a run.

Some time-honored favorites:
•Arrested Development (everybody's answer)
•Stella
•Flight of the Conchords
•Strangers with Candy

And so on. And: Discuss.

Pushing Daisies and Wonderfalls.

I don't know why, but Brian Fuller can't seem to get a break sometimes. They were both great, off-kilter, funny, thoughtful, and engaging shows and I wish they had each gotten at least one more season. The endings were too abrupt and there are too many questions that were left unanswered.
At least Arrested Development gets a movie.

-Deadwood.
-Freaks and Geeks.
-Party Down.
-Bored to Death.
Probably not the greatest tv show out there, but a good guilty pleasure of mine, Dark Angel. "There's going to be a war..." the end. Yeah, season 1 was better than season 2, but still, loads of foreshadowing to nothing and cliffhanger loose ends.

I loved Bored to Death. Sad to see it go.

I also greatly enjoy two short-lived UK shows, Look Around You and The Peter Serafinowicz Show (but I think shorter-lived shows are a bit more common there).
Firefly Jericho are the two that stand out most for me..
Max Headroom.
War of the Worlds. (Season 2 is s**t, though)
V.
The Highwayman.
Wizards and Warriors.
Alien Nation.

All of these were pretty un-mainstream and thus were never given much of a chance.

HBO made a bad decision.
Never heard of those, but shows don't seem to last as long over there.

I absolutely love Flight of the Conchords <3

Freaks and Geeks only lasted one season and it's awesome.
Also Party Down lasted 2 and its hilarious.

Arrested Development is getting a third season along with the movie.

I'm very sad about Stella and Bored To Death ... Those weren't really given a chance to shine.

I'm slightly frightened about AD's 4th season and a film, but I agree about Stella and Bored To Death. Both very well-written and smart shows.
This was probably already said but the best show ever that was cancelled too early was....Firefly. Greatest thing ever. Joss Whedon + Nathan Fillion = j**z in my pants.
