So, what are some of your favorite faith-based movies? It can be movies pertaining to any faith. I love the movie bella. I also loved End of the Spear and Passion of the Christ. All three of those movies made me cry. End of the Spear is the true story of five missionaries who were slaughtered by the waodani indians.

A Walk to Remember and Fireproof

I heard Fireproof was good but I haven't seen either of those movies.
Robocop is probably the best movie about Jesus ever made. Pulp Fiction is another good one.

Of course, there are classics, like Ben Hur. The Prince of Egypt, of course, is much better than the highly overrated-but still great- Ten Commandments.

But films like Passion of the Christ are just plain stupid. It's a snuff film starring Jesus. Bella was idiotic too. A Pro Life propaganda film that avoids the issue instead of being about the issue. It's a pretty standard romance with an a poorly plotted abortion subplot. A better movie about the issue, albeit from the choice side, is "The Fly".
Fireproof was good, I hear there is another movie just like that made recently. It's called Courageous. Except it involves a cop instead of a firefighter.

I like DOGMA. It's with Jay + Silent Bob.

A really funny look at Christianity, but it's very sweet. Not insulting to Christians or any faith at all. If you are atheist, I doubt it would offend you either.

Funny film =]

Eh...this probably doesn't count, but I really like the "Touched By An Angel" series. Used to watch those all the time as a kid.

Passion of the Christ was low grade torture porn, based on a play that only existed for the purpose of inciting hatred of the Jewish people. Rather than making a plea for people to love Christ, to love God, it cheapshots people for sympathy.

My NonChristian Girlfriend was forced to watch it with a group of people, and they all cried their eyes out. When they asked why she didn't cry, she said the one thing that really sums up why it's a terrible film.

"I read the book. He gets better. Isn't that the whole point?"

Know what?
I've ******** had it with this bullshit about "The Passion".
No, it does not portray the Jews nicely, because the Jews in the bible weren't ******** nice.
Jews WERE the ones who wanted Jesus dead, the Romans carried out a punishment levied upon Jesus by Jewish elders. Pontius Pilates explicitly didn't want anything to do with it.
Okay?
Okay.
