Welcome to Gaia! ::

I just saw Shaun of the Dead today... Definately a new zombie movie favorite: it's funny, it's emotional, it's violent... PERFECT! I laughed so hard: that movie is a new cult classic, without a dobut. SEE IT NOW.
Dead-Alive is my favorite biggrin

Or perhaps Zombi 2? or Dawn . . .
Asimov Solensan
Dawn of the Dead is a new movie, dumbass. The best zombie movie is definitely Versus.

Why are you even in this thread?
Shaun of the Dead is now my new favorite.

I thought 28 Days Later was awesome. I was really surprised that it was as popular as it was because it was actually good.

o.O but... they aren't really zombies in that movie!! they are sick people with a ******** up version of rabies.... not zombies.... they were not dead! you can't have living zombies o.O they wouldn't be zombies!

why do people say 28 days later is a zombie film? hell...it's a bio-horror virus flick. >.<* NOT a zombie film. agh....
Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead,Evil Dead, and did I say Evil Dead? Best movies EVER.

Is hands down, Dawn of The dead. The OLD school one.

This is quite possibly the dullest piece of drech I've every watched..
Metronome
I have to say, I prefer Day to Dawn.

Hate to do this, people,.. but George Romero basically made nothing but crap. The initial Night Of The Living Dead is respectable in a "Cult Classic" fashion,.. but, c'mon.. everything else was just pathetic.
Metronome
And of course one can't forget the new wave of Japanese Zombie films, specifically Versus and Wild Zero.

If you have not seen these, track them down as quick as you can.

A-Ha! Now you're getting into some good zombie territory. 'Flicks which actually have pacing.
Chii?
its all about dead alive

Back when Petr Jackson knew how to make good films!
100x better than that Lord Of The Rings dribble.
...I swear, J.R. Tolkien was the worst writer ever. I can't believe I subjected myself to his sorry excuse for literature.
p0cky n1nj4
There was a japanese zombie movie,

Bio-Zombie.

Anyone seen it? I'm pretty sure it's a big spoof.

Freaking hillarious, I love this film.
Kerision
oh there are so many to choose from. I think they're all good in there own way. My current favorite would have to be Zombie, just because its a foreign film and the gore was just so ahead of its time.

Lucio Fulci makes Ed Wood look like a god of cinema.
Arkaham
What do you guys think of, the new version of Dawn of the dead?

Excellent soundtrack.. Decent movie. Had it's pacing covered.
emerald_star19
i had to watch a bunch of zombie movies in a class i took last semester, and my favs that we watched would have to be 28 days later, dawn of the dead, and dead alive..............we also watched the cabinet of dr caligari, white zombie, and ummmmmmmm i forget hehe

I wouldn't quite call 28 Days Later a zombie film,.. but, surely, the results are the same. I found it to be pretty good. It really paved the way for the Dawn Of The Dead remake. If it weren't for 28 Days Later, we'd be subjected to another bore-fest.
The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari is excellent. German expressionist is an amazing style. (having nothing to do with Zombies) you should check out Fobidden Zone, for the set-designs alone. The sets were, actually, created by a 19 year old French girl rolleyes but the style is there. ..Plus, the film is good on it's own merit. (NOT A ZOMBIE FILM,.. I repeate..)
Ilfed
Definitely Dellamorte Dellamore (aka Cemetery Man). It is humorous and actually has something to say (along with the walking corpses and gore).

As far as Zombie comedy 'flicks go,.. I've seen better.. but this surely isn't anything to pass up. I, too, reccomend it, heavily.

Return of the Living Dead 1 and 3 (unrated)

At let me take this opportunity to b***h about the rotld 3 dvd, which includes an audio commentary, but doesnt include...the unrated version?!?!

I stand beside you 100%, regarding ROTLD3
...but I'm not a huge fan of the 1st... I just didn't find it funny.
Antipaladin
Evil Dead. I suppose it counts. Just the origional one.... ::nods::

Excellent film.. excellent series.. Easily the best American Zombie film. (even if some hardcore fans might argue that they aren't technically zombies)
Odjin
I prefer Resident Evil why, because their is nothing but action and a lot of gore

It's a good popcorn 'flick.
I'm not going to say anything bad about Resident Evil,.. in my eyes, it did "just fine".
..Even if that Laser-beam hallway was beyond silly..
Tasogare Seibei
Best Zombie Flick? Isn't that an oxymoron?lol Actually I liked Resident Evil, and Junk(japanese movie) was ok.

Junk is one of the worser Asian zombie films I've seen..
Hyosho
And oh yeah:

Best zombie movie ever = Wild Zero. This brooks no discussion. This brooks no argument, backchat, sassmouth or sarcasm. This equation is non-negotiable. Unless, of course, you've got something against japanese leatherclad rockabillies slicing alien motherships open with samurai guitars.

Oh yeah, and the soundtrack has Bikini Kill & Guitar Wolf on it. And Ace has a Link Wray flyer on his wall. And... oh, a million things.

Have you played the drinking game? xd

What? Are you serious?
I hope you're joking, because both statements in that post are wrong.

The second statement isn't too far off, though.
Peter North? c'monnnn... is that the best porn star you could come up with? You have at least picked a classic!! Everyone know that Ron Jeremy is the king of smut.
The_Wicked_Man
Shaun of the Dead is now my new favorite.

I really need to see this film...

-Alright... well,.. I suppose I've given a relatively full over-view.
There are so many it's hard to decide. Classically I love Dawn of the Dead, but I loved 28 Days Later too. Saw Shaun of the Dead last night it was hilarious.

Dennis Hopper is always a hoot..
Okay my personal bag of worms Zombie flicks.

1) Dawn Of the Dead
2) Evil dead
3) Night of the living dead
4) 28 days later
5) day of the dead
6) Army of Darkness
7) Evil Dead 2

Evil dead 2 just didn't stack to its predasessor. Anyway I have heard great things about shaun of the dead.... must see it...... Also I have been watching alot of the old Friday The 13th Movies, mostly 1-3 the best ones. Anyway could Jason be classified in the same kettle of rotten flesh as a zombie, save for the fact he is alot damn tougher, and faster, plus he doesn't eat, but he sure as hell is as tenacious as they come. What say you my horror monkeys?

I have also heard reports of silent Hill the movies, also anyone catch Resident Evil 2?
Resident Evil 2 is entertaining good. Really pretty damned stupid... but, as far as entertainment,.. it's gold.
-I don't think Jason from Friday The 13th quite counts (he's not even in the first film, aside from a flashback for how he died,.. it's surprising how many people don't know this.).. Jason is back from the dead, but he's something other than a Zombie. Zombies are brainless & simply go after the most primitive of instincts to obtain what they desire.. which is either brains or flesh. Jason isn't quite as evolved as Freddy,.. but, they're in the same relative ball-game.

Well then what type of monster is Jason? I can only relate him to one monster, but its a Dungeons and Dragons Monster, called a revenant, its this undead thing that keeps coming back and doesn't die till its avenged.
