It's a load of pretentious crap. Its supposed to be a statement about exploitation, not only in the country, but in the cinema as well. It doesn't do this through subtext, but through text, constantly telling the audience 'Hey, this is what the movie's actually about!'
But it ends up being exactly what it's trying to mock.
We are all aware that captioning video movies and television programs is intended for people who cannot hear audio or may have difficulty in comprehending the spoken language. The transcripts are an important component for adding captions to multimedia content.
Gah! I wasn't that irked by the gore, but even so.. nope.. not gonna watch it until the next blue moon.
on my calendar that's tomorrow
I'm gonna watch it not you, so your calendar is irrelevant! Ehehehe..
I will watch it another time though, really, because I know I've missed some of its points because of all the cries of disgust and screams my friends were producing while we were watching. razz
I'm not a fan of the movie myself, but I don't really like exploitation horror or torture porn, so it's not really up my alley to begin with. I definitely had to take a shower afterwards to wash all the creepiness off me. I was too distracted by how gross it was, honestly, to notice the quality of the acting. I found the special effects to be pretty believable, though.
The movie delivers exactly what I was promised it would- equal parts extreme sex and extreme violence that made me feel violated for having viewed it.
