oh god. La Dispute writes pure poetry.

La Dispute - Bury Your Flame

Oh, we could blame it on our hands
They lifted the drink to our mouths so we drank it
Or we could blame it on our bodies
They say, we like the way we feel when we get touched
You've got your fingers snared in my veins
I think it's time you pulled them out
And I don't care about the flesh it'll tear
It isn't flesh that I'm worried about

We held a match to keep our sight on the path
But the flame gave up and we lost it
And I've knelt for the last three years
Trying to find it back with the blackened matchstick
Today I'm not afraid of failure
The past is a flower
The future, the snow
I wasn't ever close to perfect
But I never let you go

You let your doubt lead you like a river on and on
And you will never get back to save what you had
Hear me promise
I will bury your problems in me
So sleep soundly
I held your heart in my fingers
Now it's gone, it's gone, it's gone and you will never admit
That you bid the wind blow the flames out
And buried the coals in the sea
You tricked me..

You came back and you brought floods
Wearing a necklace made of hearts that you'd dragged through the mud
And I guess I wasn't quite sure what to say to you
But then I saw mine, almost reached out to grab it
Said, darling, you're the only one on earth I want to have it
But now I'm not so sure that was true
After the hell you put it through.

LA DISPUTE-nine
4laugh
I recall once on the church steps,
When I moved to kiss your chest,
How we paid such close attention
To each sweet and stuttered breath,
I should’ve stopped to paint our picture,
Captured honest pure affection,
Just to document the difference between attraction and connection.

I can see all of my friends and
I break into empty buildings,
When the coast was clear,
With backpacks full of beer,
We’d throw our bottles from the rooftops
At this city—it looked endless.
Guess I still don’t see the difference between real purpose and that urgent adolescence.

And I remember in a basement sharing sweat
With all these stranger boys and girls,
“We’ll change the world!” We sang,
“We’ll change the world!” But,
Nothing seems to change and
They say none of them will listen,
But I still see much more power in that basement than in elected politicians.

And if we get beaten by this winter,
If we get strangled by regret, just
Let our love of life and tension
Gasp in sweet and stuttered breaths, and
Have them lay us in a basement,
Smash some bottles on the ground, and
Say we never knew the difference between the feeling and the sound.

Remember not our faulty pieces,
Remember not our rusted parts,
It’s not the petty imperfections that define us but
The way we hold our hearts,
And the way we hold our heads,
I hope they write your names beside mine on my gravestone when I’m dead.
And when we’re dead let our voices carry on
To find a better song.
To find a better song and sing along.

lol, I had to look up what that meant.
Have you heard Wildlife?
There's some really great stuff on there, but my favorite album is probably still Somewhere.
you're only as tall as your heart will let you be and you're only as small as the world will make you seem and when the going gets rough and you feel like you may fall just look on the brightside you're roughly six feet tall.... love the whole song just good words to live by

This whole song.
Invitation To The Blues - Tom Waits

She said "How you gonna like 'em, over medium or scrambled?",
You say "Anyway's the only way", be careful not to gamble
On a guy with a suitcase and a ticket getting out of here
It's a tired bus station and an old pair of shoes
This ain't nothing but an invitation to the blues

But you can't take your eyes off her, get another cup of java,
It's just the way she pours it for you, joking with the customers
Mercy mercy, Mr. Percy, there ain't nothing back in Jersey
But a broken-down jalopy of a man I left behind
And the dream that I was chasing, and a battle with booze
And an open invitation to the blues
Every single line of Kate Nash's "Nicest Thing" heart
"I could have sworn that I saw you knee bent on the bedside, arms stretching like a kite that time would eventually grow. I'm so sure of it. And I've got a reason too long for songs, that tells why your legs and arms are actually able. Cause I confide in wolves at night."

Crawling in my skin
this wounds they will not heal
fear is how i fell
confusing what is real...

Crawling- Linkin Park C:
- - - - - - - - - - ( )

" I fallen out of favor,
        I fallen out of grace,
Fallen out of trees, fallen on my face
Fallen out of taxis, out of windows, too

Fell in your opinion when I fell in love with you"
        ( )
"Sometimes I wish for falling, wish for the release
Wish for falling through the air to give me some relief,
'Cause falling's not the problem, when I'm falling I'm at peace,
It's only when I hit the ground that it causes all the grief."
        ( )
"This is a song for a scribbled out name,
        That my love keeps writing,
        Again and again"

        Falling--Florence + the Machine
Honestly what will become of me
don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really life is dandy
We are what we don't see
Missed everything daydreaming

Traveling I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay
Young and restless
Living this way I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in and I don't cry
I only feel gravity and I wonder why

Eeeee, Modest Mouse are awesome.
The tears we've cried,
This love has died,
You're by yourself here tonight,
It's what we hide,
With every lie,
You're by yourself

We Stitch These Wounds by Black Veil Brides
Soft hair and a velvet tongue, i wanna give you what you give to me, and every breath that is in your lungs is a tiny little gift to me.
