So, in a couple of days I'll be getting a new iPod, with LOTS of more space [yes!] so I'm trying to find some more music.

I'd appreciate it if the singers were male, thanks. I just find male voices more appealing.

were Moving Units, Smith Westerns and The Cinematics. I liked The Smiles a little, kinda reminded me of Vampire Weekend(really liked that Cinematics band!)

While Im more into the synthy/dance aspect of indie music, here's some examples of more straight rock I *love*

i've done horribly on these recommendations. i usually have like these lists in my head of songs that sound similar to the ones you put, but this list is running low on songs. :c i'm going to keep trying though!
