Have you interacted with teenagers on Facebook for the last two weeks? They're just about annoying about the Kony 2012 thing than a hamster on crack singing songs by LMFAO through a megaphone. And I know that was a stupid and immature metaphor but it's true.
Nice metaphor. I actually like that metaphor. I mean, I would not want to be tortured by a hamster singing "Sexy and I Know It" ad nauseum and doing that horrible rhythm they played that repeats over and over again until the end of time. And in just three hours of supporting Kony 2012, I came across with the poster that says "Watching a 30 minute video does not make you an activist", and I thought, "
My God, what had I DONE TO MYSELF?" and started protesting against those who think they're "activists" by just shouting KONY 2012, and became skeptical about KONY 2012 as a whole.

One kid literally told me that he did not know that there were charities for children in small, starving countries before Kony 2012. Um, yeah. Clearly, someone doesn't spend a whole lot of time actually giving a s**t before it became trendy to do so. The laziness and apathy inherent in the views of the situation in first world countries is appalling.
It's like the whole SOPA thing- no one really gave a crap until everyone was talking about it on Facebook. In the end, raising awareness doesn't do s**t unless you are actually taking steps to stop whatever your raising awareness against in the first place.
During my RE class they told me that there are charities for kids in small, starving countries. They're called "Save the Children", "Caritas Internationalis", "World Vision" (to keep up with the whole Christian theme) and "UNICEF".
Now, I got you a question. How many people give a ******** about those? Zero. Nada. Nothing.
People don't give a s**t about until everyone starts talking about it. Look what happened to me when they started shouting about SOPA. Do people give a s**t about internet censorship in other nations before the whole SOPA s**t happened? NO.
And next time, I rather stick with legitimate charities- REAL ones.

And, if you care about my views on it, Invisible Children is untrustworthy in the first place, first and foremost because they want the US to take up military occupation in Uganda. Yeah, like we need to be shipping people and money off into another small country for unnecessary amounts of time.
Exactly. They care more about the salaries and money than the goddamn actual cause. I read that they got a 2 out of 5 score on Charity Navigator.
