Seconded. Carte blanche is absolutely stupid as ********. They need oversight.

But seriously, Inhofe is really into some real bad governance. Firstly, congressmen aren't scientists or economists. Inhofe certainly isn't any of either since he believes all sorts of nonsense like believing that climate change is a "hoax" despite a general consensus by the scientific community.

He's all for using a minority to force a vote in the hope of stalling or quashing environmental regulation even after disaster after disaster in places like West virginia clearly reinforce the fact that some regulatory body has to exist or businesses will cut corners at the expense of the environment if they think they can get away with it and they usually can.

The point of even having organizations like the EPA is so that thinks might actually get done by an organization with a specific purpose. Because little is getting done in Congress as is.

But it's so much easier to throw out hyperbole and adopt solutions that will only work as long as the depletable rescource lasts or until polution takes over the area and then offer no alternatives than to acually research the full impact of what this will do. As important as the economy is, focusing on just the immediiate is penny wise and pound foolish

More power to the lobbies, great idea Senator Sell Out.

The EPA can more easily withstand undue pressure from lobbyists in industries in which regulations hurt profits even if good. Congressmen can't without greater repercussions due to what it takes to get reelected. I'd rather not rely on elected officials standing strong.
