Procedure, a person is innocent until proven guilty and they don't want someone swinging around and suing them for millions as compensation when they are cleared because they cut off their wages.

So it is simpler to just pay them until they are convicted then cutting their pay.

Actually it was the pepperoni's, but the probable argument will be that without forensic data or something it's all speculation.
