Boobs. Use them how nature intended and everybody gets mad. stressed

Boobs are pretty much only tolerated in porn. Anywhere else and someone's liable to say "Hey put them titties away. Nobody wants to see that s**t!"

Im not going a whole flight with engorged breasts and get my shirt messed up in the process. Either you let me use my breast pump or you milk me yourself, but Im not going the whole flight without being milked. D:<

It's unfortunate that > SOME < people in the States haven't quite gotten out of the Victorian mindset that women should be ashamed of their bodies and cover up even when doing something that is completely nonsexual as breast feeding.

What weirds me out is the bitchy behavior of the flight attendant and her blatant refusal to give her name when requested. She was looking to cause a problem.

There. I fixed that for you.
It's true some people are "Oh noz a booby" but around where I live I frequently see women breastfeeding at the mall or a restaurant and nobody cares. They are polite about it - not stripping from the waste up - typically covered with a receiving blanket or something but it is obvious what they are doing.

As far is this woman - I'm kind of surprised she is using an electric pump if she is worried about people noticing she is pumping. You are more limited in where and they make noise. I do realize that some women have trouble with manual pumps but most can use them. And they are lighter / smaller. For travel on a plane I was kind of surprised she is using an electric pump.
Doesn't excuse b***h stewardess though. No call for that. She might not have given her name but if AA wants to know who she is they can tell since there would be limited stewardesses on the plane and they would have records.

See, that's still that whole Victorian mindset that women have to cover up, once again.
I really don't care if I'm sitting next to a strange woman and she lifts up half her shirt to breast feed her baby. It's happened before. I've been around women who breast feed with their shirts open and such. Somehow it's considered foul in public.

Still... MOST people in the States find it offensive.

You are making incorrect assumptions about my attitude. Everything you just said is true of me as well. I've been around plenty of breastfeeding without cover and no, it doesn't bother me or 'excite' me.

It isn't "Victorian attitude" that women HAVE to have a blanket. It is common courtesy that most women do cover up or at least try to be discreet. It's just a kindness to those who might feel uncomfortable with it or for passing parents who might not want to get into a conversation with their young children about what is going on. Stuff like that. It's just being considerate of others who might be more sensitive to it. And for many babies it helps them focus by blocking out light and noise common in public places. (Though I know there are some babies who don't like a cover and keep pulling it off.)

It's kind of like this mentality - I am not offended by seeing the inside of someone's mouth. But I know many people, especially Asian cultures, consider it rude to use a toothpick in public without covering your mouth. As a courtesy to those people if I do happen to use a toothpick at a restaurant I try to be discreet about it and cover my mouth with my hand they way I see many Asians do. That is not because I see anything wrong with it but simply as a courtesy to those that might.

I'm actually kind of laughing at you thinking I have "Victorian attitude". Burning man type events, nude beaches, naked hot tub (not sex) with people I barely know. I don't go to orgies but I'm hardly offended by the human body and I consider breastfeeding a beautiful thing. My wife breastfed my daughters and my daughters have breastfed all of my grandchildren. It's part of nature and I have no problem with it - covered or no.

Excess milk and infrequent emptying of the breasts can cause puerperal mastitis which is not pleasant to say the least.

I don't give a flying ******** if she's a parent, I don't want to see it. I don't even want to know about it. Go somewhere else to do it.

Because she's feeding a baby, like it or not. Guess what happens if she doesn't breastfeed it? It starts wailing from being hungry and then you have even more of an annoyance. Whether you like it or not, she has a right to do it in public. I'm pretty sure most moms don't even let their tit hang and use those bras or a blanket to cover up. Just don't look, seriously.

And hey, guess what? They don't have to go somewhere else to do it. Why should they have to go somewhere else to feed their baby just so you don't have to look at it?

To be fair, I don't want to see someone shitting on the floor out in the open.

Some people consider feeding a baby to be a rather intimate act that's best to do in a bathroom if possible. In an airplane, you just gotta do the best you can since there aren't exactly a lot of stalls like there are in offices and some supermarkets.

Is there a reason why she couldn't have pumped in the bathroom before the flight boarded? I'm a little unclear, but did she do this before the plane left or while it was in air? Because, if it was before the plane left, again, why not do that in the bathroom before boarding? I know not everyone is like me when it comes to flights and arriving early, but she does know she's going to have to pump out the milk and a little planning would be in order. Never assume that because "someone else let me" everyone would let you. I never liked that excuse anyway. I got it a lot while working at Target by people who wanted to cheat with coupons. They'd always say, "the other Target let me use five coupons for the same item" or something to that effect, so I'm less inclined to believe that part of her story. So, again, why couldn't she plan ahead on this? Or use the plane bathroom? It's a bit cramped, but private.

Pretty sure shitting out in the open is different to feeding a baby.

Anyway, doing it in the stalls is really uncomfortable and almost painful, I heard.

It's not like the baby is going to be fully fed that entire time. Plus, the overflow of milk in breasts causes problems as well so it's not like she could fully avoid doing it in public. Bathrooms are ******** uncomfortable and it's shitty for the other people as well for her to hold up the bathroom just so she can feed her baby.

It definitely is but I think the general idea people have in their heads is it's an intimate act that nobody wants to see.

I wasn't aware of that. o.o Hopefully I won't sound like a buffoon for asking why? I wouldn't be against sitting somewhere in the bathroom while not being in a stall - I saw a woman doing that in the ladies restroom a few days ago. It's more shocking than it should be for me considering where I work. sweatdrop

I don't really see how it's intimate. o_o Although like I said, most women don't just leave her titty hanging. They at least cover it up with a blanket so most people don't even witness the act anyway.
And I'm not sure, I'm guessing it's just really uncomfortable, coupled with the cramp-ness and breastfeeding pains?

I'm just wondering why she didn't seem to try to plan ahead. I'm sure this trip was very important, but it just appears like she didn't really plan ahead. I do understand that a mother who is breastfeeding continues to produce milk to replenish what the baby partakes so she's ready when the baby is hungry again. So I do understand that flying would be very uncomfortable for her. But, why not try to pump out before the flight? Even if the bathrooms are uncomfortable, it's still an option.
