The McDonald's in Hong Kong already had that black bun and a white bun burger series. I tried the black one last year. Not bad, but I didn't see the big deal though. It did not taste burnt. The bun is black through and through. I didn't have time to taste the all-white bun though.

I wonder if someone will take offense to it? Fortunately, these burgers are sold in Asia. I'm glad Japan has it too.

The most off-putting thing for me is the squid ink.

In Italy there's pasta made with squid ink in it. That'd be the least of my worries, personally.

I've had that. It's not bad. It's just messy and blackens your teeth. I'm planning to try squid ink ramen one day.

Did you try the Darkside burgers when they were out?

Never heard of them. I looked it up and it appears to just be a burger with black coloring - that's not something I would try any more than I would try the Oreos that turn milk blue. It's purely a novelty with no flavor value.
