JENKINS, Ky. -- There it was on Facebook for all to see – Michael Baker with a gas can, a siphon hose stuck into a police cruiser in eastern Kentucky and a middle finger raised.

Among those who saw it were Jenkins police, who arrested 20-year-old Baker on Monday and charged him with theft by unlawful taking.

Police didn't laugh. Chief Allen Bormes says that if Baker would steal from police, he'd steal from "just about anybody."

Authorities say they plan to buy lockable gas caps.

Why do so many people use Facebook to post pics or videos of themselves committing crimes? Do they really think none of their "friends" will report them? Or that "friends" won't use their blogs or other websites to copy and paste the idiot things people put on Facebook?

Actually, I hope these losers keep doing it. It's so funny to read about their "say WHUT" moments when they're busted. blaugh

Theft by unlawful taking, that seems kind of redundant.

Its not really that amazing. So many people use the internet and social networking that there really is no difference between Facebook and real life, because everyone from your real life is on Facebook, or the majority of them anyway.

I think its just ridiculous that people do the things they do. If you're dumb enough to post proof of your crimes committed online then you're just asking to get caught. Do they think that the authorities don't have access to the internet?

What a dumbass. He comes from the same breed of idiots that b***h about being fired from their jobs after posting publicly online pictures of themselves partying, nude, doing illegal drugs, etc.
