That's the only time I've heard folks say he was "lucky" his teacher screwed him or something like that.

The young man in this story was (presumably) a** raped (or sodomized if you prefer) by four other guys / men and the "critical injury / in hospital" part suggests it was definitely not consensual sex.
I've never never heard anyone call a guy lucky for being sodomized against his will, even if it didn't send him to the hospital.

But I agree with you that all rape victims should be taken seriously.

I've seen people on Tumblr say a boy is even lucky to get any and count their blessings that a woman found them attractive enough to 'have sex' with a the victim. It's a scary place how open some people are on Tumblr and how willing they are to say it and tag it under popularly searched tags on that site. It's too easy to come across that, so easy to see I've had to use Tumblr savior to blacklist certain words. I enjoy going on that site for RPing purposes and for friends, but that site's dark corners aren't small.

Rape is, in my opinion, the worst crime of all. Murder takes away someknes life and hurts their friends and family, but rape destroys it. Most rapees tend to suffer mentally because of it, but you can't blame them for that. Sadly, it is all around us. Celebrities are terrible for it, believing themselves invulnerable, hell several British MPs have been caught at peadophilia, I feel really sorry for this guy, and I hope he can manage to have a good life despite it.

Really eye opening though, I'm fifteen and it scares me how easily it can happen to anyone.

Also, he's fifteen years old, lives in Kentucky and his story's on the internet. Assuming he recovers, then he's gonna have to work hard for the rest of his life to keep his name from being associated with this story, lest he become known as the "sissy little f*****t from that news story."

Well, pretty hard not to have a police report filed when you have critical injuries (presumably in your a**) and have to be admitted to the hospital. ER folks have to watch for / report injuries that suggest a crime took place.

"What happened to you son?"
"I fell on a plunger handle. Twelve times"

And no, I'm not making fun of the boy. Just pointing out it was likely pretty obvious to the doctors that he was abused / a victim. Plus of course hopefully the boy WANTED to report the crime. But if he didn't, it would likely be difficult to deny something happened.
Also, due to his age, I don't thin he could have claimed it was consensual sex even if he wanted to.
