salt
pepper
olive oil
1 1/2 cups soy sauce
1 table spoon sesame oil
sesame seeds
1/2 tablespoon rice vinegar
1/2 tablespoon crushed garlic
1/2 tablespoon crushed ginger
1 1/2 lbs of top sirloin steak
1 large yellow onion
1 1/2 cups of cheese (soy cheese pictured)
tortillas
cilantro
green onions
1 cup brown rice
kimchi
red cabbage
BUILD ORDER

Total prep time will be about ~20 minutes. Since this recipe does require a marinating process, the total idle team will be about 12 – 24 hours. Total cook time will be about 35 minutes. This recipe will serve 4 people.

OPENING

Slice your raw top sirloin into thin strips.
Place a freezer plastic bag in a bowl (you can skip this step if you don’t want to put the marinade in a bag).
Pour the soy sauce, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil into the bag.
Place your sliced sirloin in the marinade and let marinate for at least 2 hours… Marinating over night would be best. This can all be done the day before!
MID GAME

Chop onions, cilantro and green onions. Reserve half of the cilantro and green onions
Boil 1 cup of brown rice.
Chop about 1/2 cup of kimchi.
When brown rice is done, add in some cilantro, green onions and kimchi.
LATE GAME

Add olive oil pan and set pan to high heat.
When pan is hot, saute onions. Season onions.
Remove onions from heat.
Take marinated beef and place in hot pan.

Add sesame seeds and pepper.
Cook beef for about 5-7 minutes, or until done.
Add in cilantro and green onions.
Add onions back into the pan and mix with the beef. Remove from heat.
Take two paper towels and dampen them with water.
Place a tortilla between the damp paper towels and microwave the tortilla for 15 seconds.
Place kimchi rice, beef, onions, red cabbage and cheese on top of the tortilla. Wrap tortilla.
Eat!

And that’s all you need to make these Gosu (고수) Burritos. GG WP!
Now, ladder up and start cooking!

Along with all of your constraints for your diet, I would HIGHLY recommend "low salt"!
I never realized that salt plays a HUUUUUUGE roll in contributing to added weight, almost as much as fats and way much more than carbs, until I went to a personal trainer. He told me to begin drinking lots of water and just try and not eat over 1,000 mg of sodium a day....man, was he right. All of the extra weight I had was just water retention and it went away so quickly!

This classic Korean noodle dish combines translucent sweet potato noodles with lots of stir-fried vegetables and a sweet-savory sauce. To make it, sauté mushrooms, carrots, onion, garlic, and spinach, then throw in the cooked noodles with some soy sauce mixed with brown sugar. Once it’s all evenly heated, top with scallions and toasted sesame seeds and serve with a Korean barbecue meal, or take it to work for a light vegetarian lunch.

What to buy: Korean sweet potato noodles, also known as starch noodles or Korean vermicelli, are made from sweet potato starch and water. When cooked, these dried gray noodles turn clear. Do not confuse them with Korean “cold noodles,” which are made from buckwheat. Korean sweet potato noodles can be found in Asian or Korean markets.

Game plan: If fresh shiitake mushrooms are not available, substitute dried. Cover 1 ounce of dried whole shiitake mushrooms with hot tap water and let sit until softened, at least 4 hours or overnight. Trim off the tough stems and slice the caps thinly. They need more time to cook than fresh mushrooms, so cook with the onions and carrots and then proceed with the recipe.

I've wondered about the nutrition of sweet potato noodles actually. I mean sweet potatoes are mad good for you, so are sweet potato noodles or are they more kind of average? hm... Looks good!

Not my picture, recipe here!

Looks good! Don't know why - but I always lean towards wanting to make porridges with milk and fruit out of my quinoa rather than normal savory quinoa.

Then again I haven't used the best recipes in my testings with savory quinoa too.
I hope you guys have heard of 2 ingredient pancakes.

Just an egg or two and an overripe banana.

Mash, mix, cook in a frying pan, and that's it. Good with a touch of cinnamon too. When I've made them they've never been "food porn", they've always looked a little funny but delicious! I actuallly messed up the first time only using one egg rather than 2 (what the recipe calls for on blogilates), but that's how I prefer them. I like the added banana taste!

I wouldn't call them constraints.

Trust me, I'm with you on the salt. Not because of weigh issues actually - didn't know it could make such a big difference, but I /do/ know it's unhealthy for other reasons deffinately.

Let me stress that eating cleanly for me isn't just about body weight. It's about health. Interesting to know that less salt could make such a big difference on body weight as well though.

To avoid extra salt I'm just usually mindful of how much I add and I try to stay away from canned vegetables, soups, etc that tend to be very high in sodium, generally choosing to cook with things that have no salt in them, adding my own so that I can see how much I'm adding if I am adding any..

I would think a salad with some other fruit in it? probably some nuts? I always have a fruit in my salads because i never use salad dressing and it does need some kind of juice.

idk though, i don't use salad dressings EVER so that's just a guess. I have no mindframe for what balsamic vinegar tastes like.
By the way guys, if anyone's into motivating each other I'm down.

I lost 20 lbs in about 3 months through clean eating and I loved it. However eating is contagious (in aspects of what you eat not just eating in general ahaha) and moving back into the college life kind of screwed up my clean eating, as I rely on the dining hall there and my friends are not clean eaters. razz
