i know its kinda messed up to fine people but its really whats best for them to have insurance so they dont go bankrupt god forbit something crazy happens like cancer or just a silly trip to the er. this is totally random but you know you can get a ticket for falling asleep on the train in nyc? you know y? alot of people who fall asleep one the train get mugged or raped when they wake up. its kinda mean to give them 100 dollar ticket but its really to help them

You can't compare a ticket on a train to this, seeing as how that train is owned by someone and CAN be considered private property seeing as how someone did pay for it and they do have a right to do that. Now if it is a public train, paid for by taxes, then that still isn't wrong. Seeing as how you don't have to sleep on the train nor do you have to take it in the first place. This bill will essentially fine your life, a given right to all and it is yours to do with as you want, and they will fine you for not wanting to insure it. That is why I see it as wrong, other then the fact they are forcing you to buy something or pay a fine. Again, a life is a right, cars are privileges as well as other things, they will fine you for your right, you can't really justify that. 'Oh, it is for them' ((most used argument)). Okay, your point? It is your right to live a life how you want and no one should be allowed to dictate your decisions in any way. If they do, that is a dictatorship to do that, whether negative or not.

By the way, I'm not personally attacking you but rather the idea and bill, so please don't feel as if I am attacking you. I know I get rather aggressive and assertive in my debates and arguments, people around me have to tell me to calm down usually even though I am calm but other people get well...scared because they feel I'm lashing at them personally. Just wanted to make sure you know it isn't personally against you ^^
im just saying its the same kinda idea. its a public train and i fall asleep all the time on the train lol people dont sleep like with pillows and stuff its just boring and when ur coming out of work its hard not to fall alseep.im not saying that its ok for them to do that to fine people but its messed up but they just want people to make the best choice.

i know your not personally attacking me and i feel that you present yourself in a very professional way in your arguement and ur so far my favortie person to argue with

Well Actually the Subway trains are Government Property.

I figured that but anyways, you still have no right to the subway or train. Considering that your personal taxes paid for a very, very small portion of the actual train and thus doesn't give you much of a right to it either way, it is a privilege. But that is my stance on the matter of subways...nasty little things...in Japan they cram so many into one XD
i must shower. tata !

So what you're saying then is that you don't feel it is right and yet you still support the bill? I personally will never support the bill till this is made right. Even though it does so much for people it still is not right. I all promised myself to stand for what was right, this bill is not right to me and I can no accept it. I won't lie, it is hard to say I hate a bill that will help so many, including myself, many would call that selfish in a way. However, to me that is no different then turning your back to genocide just because it has no effect on you personally or those you care about. That is just not the person I am.That may be a rather harsh analogy but is that not the same thing at heart? Yes, the government should encourage people to buy insurance and to pick the right choice but pushing people into a corner is not the right thing to do. When an animal is backed into a corner, it gets scared and becomes desperate.

In my state, WA, there have already been death threats made against one of our senators. There have also been vandalism, broken windows, of a democratic party building. People are feeling threatened by this bill, mostly over the fine. They are going to act like a animal backed into a corner, they will lash out, they will try to force what they want to happen. I'm just afraid it may end in unnecessary bloodshed, in peaceful protest turned to riots. People are already not afraid to use force to try and make change, who is to say they won't do it on an even larger scale? So far it has been mostly individuals, individuals aren't dangerous but when they began to voice their opinion, begin to gather more people, they begin to make groups and that is where real problems arise. Sure right now it may be a few busted windows and a single man going to jail but how long has the bill been signed? Not that long. How many don't like the bill? Quite a few are displeased with it. This fine is not only wrong in my eyes but it would appear that those that don't like it will lash out in increasing magnitude. I'm sure the president is thinking the same possibility and won't do anything in hopes of it all settling down, if it doesn't settle I'm sure it will rapidly escalate. But that is just what I see. I'm a person who has been called crazy, insane, twisted, creepy, ect. So what credibility do I have ^^ Yet oddly on a deserted island many said they would feel most safe with me >.> Anyways, that is irrelevant XD

I'm glad you like debating with me ^^ So few like to...they begin to talk nonsense or tell me to be quiet.

@OP

I never said socialism was bad, i was just saying that it would be unsustainable in the US because of greed being ingrained on it's population.

That and our population is too high, but it works beautifully in a low population country.

Which would be pretty awesome.
And i'm actually quite the socialist.

My forgotten thread explains this...
