Just let them know of the new change that you are making so that there will be options for you at meal time. If they are up for going with you to the store and picking out food with you, great. If not bust open that preverbal piggybank and head down to that health food store on your own. If you’re family isn’t as open to the idea try making a dinner for them with Vegan dishes. They should at lest appreciate that you took the time and spent the money to make food for them.
And if you want your family to respect your choice in Veganism its best to not start out by calling them "Carnivorous whores".
