Honey is quite the good sore throat soother, especially if you put it in a bit of tea. Makes it quite enjoyable. This probably has never come across you yet, but Dill pickles and/or pickle juice can really help a sore throat out as well. A long while back, I had pharyngitis and it was just an awful fit of coughing, making my throat rather raw. A teacher recommended this for me and it really helped out. It's something you can try if you like pickles, anyway.

honey is a low grade healthy safe antibiotic. (thats why it never goes bad)
