Sore throat remedies?

so about.. Tuesday night I had a scratchy throat. I didn't think anything of it, it lasted halfway to yesterday, then it escalated. I could barely talk or swallow without having a sensation of my throat being cut open. It got two times worse today. And I have no voice, plus a fever of 101.4.
The only thing bothering me is my sore throat. I haven't seen a doctor quite yet.
Any remedies that'll help ease the pain?

The lack of voice could be laryngitis; I've had it once before, and it cleared up by itself after three or four days.

For overall throat pain, I find salt to be the most effective.

A natural one is actually Honey.

It helps a lot when you use Hot water honey and Lemons.

That's if a sore throat happens to me. Or I get that extremist Chinese green and gross bitter syrup. That would make me puke in an instant, so use honey

Warm liquids. I prefer hot tea.
There's also an alcoholic thing you can buy (name escapes me) but it has a lemon in the bottle. You microwave a shot of it and knock it down. It helped me with my sore throat. I don't recall it burning my throat, more like a soothing warmth (burnt my tongue from it being too hot once, tho).

I usually just use several cups of hot chamomile tea (any tea would work) and some honey, and I drink that for as long as it makes me comfortable. I sometimes add lemon juice, but that often stings going down, so it depends on the mood.

I find a hot cup of plain tea will ward off throat pain and colds if I drink it as soon as I begin feeling that scratchy feeling.

I just tried warm salt water and lemon water, and it worked out quite well 3nodding
