Odd bump on pointer knuckle

That is just it, i noticed today that i have an odd bump on my knuckle that makes it look lopsided a bit. No pain normally, but when i cut chicken at work, it bumps up against the cutting board and that is where the pain is. This is very odd and it is freaking me out

It sounds like you regularly bump or rub that part of your knuckle against a cutting board? Could be a callous. Your skin may hurt because of the repetitive contact with the cutting board. Can you lay a small towel over the cutting board where your knuckle touches it? To ease the impact. I'm not sure how to deal with removing a callous (assuming it is) after it forms.

It could be infection or an inflamed joint. I recommend going to a doctor. It's usually not anything serious and they'll just give you an antibiotic, but if you ignore it, it could get worse.
