You should try HIIT training while jumping rope.
Basically: Skip as fast as possible for 30 seconds, skip slow for 30 seconds, skip fast 30... repeat until exhausted.

Skipping is done by boxers and a ton of athletes because it is great cardio, cheap and easily accessible, really tones your body, gets you light on your feet... etc etc it has a s**t ton of benefits and I can vouch for how great it is if practiced longterm.
