Dental retainers? helphelphelp

I removed my braces a couple days back and now obv I have clear retainers- I was wondering is it normal that I can't close my teeth together with them on? it's a bit uncomfortable and it kind of makes me feel like my jaw is altered but once I take them out after an hour or so they'd be fine again, but I'm worried it's not supposed to be this way?
