Why did Barty Crouch turn Malfoy into a farret. Was it because he did not want to blow his cover or was it because he was jealous of Lucius's relationship with Voldemort or both what do you thinik?

He probably hated Lucius for getting out of Azkaban by claiming that he'd been under the Imperius and then happily continuing his life without trying to help Voldemort whatsoever.

I think it was a combination of all three, that he was angry at Lucius, he wanted Harry to trust him and also that he got a twisted enjoyment out of making Draco suffer. He does torture and kill people for a living after all.
