You can't say the movies are automatically worse because they don't contain all the details of the book. It's not in how many details they contain, it's in which details they do and how they're put across. I still prefer the books but only because I prefer books in general and the latest film was a bit post-modern, teen romance for me.

Hands down, the books.
I can't even begin to describe how disappointed in most of the movies I have been.
I'm a book person in general, but the books were just.... amazing. So much depth, back story, little details... almost none of that is conveyed in the movies.

You know the books are better. At least they don't change as many lines as the stupid twilight move nothin is right n that movie. But anyways HP books are way better than the movies but i do like Luna in the movies.

Books, wands down.
Hollywood took too much liberty following SS and CoS.
The acting is still wicked,
but the coverage of the storyline stinks.

WARNING - Thread killer.

personally i love both! i think given that there are so many details in the books the movies did a good job of bringing all that to life. obviosuly things were changed for the sake of the movies but i think overall they directors and producers did a great job and chose amazing actors to portray the characters.

It depends really, I loved the movies then I read the Books and Fell In love with Tonks. SO i would say the books because the movies changed so much

Books definitely. The little details are missed in movies, the comedy, the depth, the way the characters think. All my favorite books get ruined by being made into movies...

98% of teens say "I love you" and don't mean it....if you're the 2% that do, put this in your sig.

To me the books are definately better than the films the only one I have to say that comes close to having most of the book in it without alot missing is Harry Potter and the Philosphers Stone

I like the books better.
Of course they are much more detailed and to be honest the 5th movie was a great disapointment.
lets keep our fingers crossed and see if the 7th movie is any good.
Also,
I hate the way there are different actors for dumbledoor! ugh it bothers me!
