The saddest death in the series.

i always thought James and Lily's death was tragic, and found the concept talked about too often.

of course, of all the other deaths, i actually cried when Severus died. poor b*****d.

oh, and Harry's death made too much sense, but that creature in Limbo with Harry made me actually pity Tom. not Voldemort, just Tom.

for me personally the two deaths that struck me the hardest, were sirius and dumbledore.

I too had a godmother who i barely knew and she died from cancer.
I couldn't talk to anyone for a week after that, but I wanted a friend during that time.

I kind of saw dumbledore as my dog. my dog was adopted when I was in kindergarten and died a week before my high school graduation. Just as dumbledore really came into harry's life during his school age.
dumbledore helped harry through tough times and was a sympathetic ear when he needed it. whenever life was hard, she knew it, and came to lick my tears away.
just as dumbledore was anchient, she was 19. that's like a million years in dog years. she also had about every imaginable problem except for infection. dumbledore when he died, was severely weakened from the potion and the curse when he died. and just like harry, I was there when she was put to sleep.
when I saw the movie, I couldn't help crying for harry. the way he ran his hand over dumbledore brought me back to that vets office like no other memory ever did.

i'd say that cedric's death had the biggest impact, because after he died, there was a main character who died in every book after that. But the ones that really got to me was fred's, sirius's, dumbledore's, and lupin's. I would have never thought that lupin would die, because I was hopeful that at least one of the marauders would survive. dumbledore kinda had to though because there had to be some sort of break in the faith of the good wizards, so thats understandable, but seriously, the others? just wrong... so wrong...

Severus. It almost broke my heart to read those pages when he died, gazing into Lily's eyes. crying
I was also crying all over the chapter The Prince's Tale. People really have to understand what he sacrificed for everyone. Harry was right to say that he was the bravest man he knew because think of what it took to be a double agent for Dumbledore, a superb occlumens, and risking his life so many times, all the while grieving over Lily's death? He loved her until the end.
