Somehow I doubt that you and I read the same book. Because in the book I read Ariana was assulted by a bunch of muggles and left so emotionally scarred that she ws never able to leave home and/or do magic again. In fact she was in such a bad state that she eventually lost control of her magic and killed Kendra. This is not the kind of person that should be subjected to a relationship with Gellert Grindlewald. Albus was an intelligent had capable wizard. He was simply infatuated with the sleazeball. They were equals. And in fact, in the end dumbledore bested Grindlewald even though the latter was in posession of the elder wand.
It is not the same and Albus/Gellert was plenty angsty enough.

Something with afterlife-ish James and Lily watching over Harry during one of the many times he's in lethal peril. I'm thinking of it mostly as a character study comparing how James and Lily would support their son without being able to interact with him, but you do what you want with it.
