INTP, Engineer but Gryffindor.

When it comes to sorting, I think it's not so much what you have as what you value.

Interesting, although personally I think you got Slytherin and Gryffindor mixed up. Sure, if you look at the lables it seems clear, Protectors=Gryffindor, Creators=Slytherin. But if you read the whole thing, I think it's very much the other way around.

Another thing I would like to point out: aren't the houses similar to high school cliques?

Gryffindor = Jocks
Slytherin = Rich Kids
Hufflepuff = Preps
Ravenclaw = Nerds (and proud!)

That's not exactly something to be happy about. Woo hoo we promote bullying.

I agree, totally. Gryffindors don't strike me as people who are careful to plan their actions before doing them - Protectors are described as not being impulsive which seems more like the opposite of Gryffindor's "go get 'em" attitude. The Creator's description fits Gryffindor much better, flexible, spur of the moment, laid back and open minded. The majority of Slytherins that we met in the series were brooding, uptight and exceedingly close minded, though carefully calculating an cautious.

Where I went to school, the top three were all the same.

There are jocks in every house, accomplished jocks at that. You have plenty of nerds in Gryffindor (Ron should be president of the chess club! - and HELLO, Hermione and Percy!), as well as people who wouldn't be in that clique, Dean as the artist, Neville as the dunce, Lavender the obnoxious giggler and loudmouth, etc.

And not everyone in Slytherin was rich or close to it. Riddle himself was an orphan, and young Snape is described as wearing hand-me-down ratty clothes that don't fit.

"Prep" is such a vague term, and for me carries negative connotations. I find Hufflepuffs to be the "good people" minus a few stray pricks.

Ravenclaws are smart but not necessarily all nerds. Cho barely strikes me as intelligent, much less nerdy, and may to better in the Jock category.

But that's just my take! 3nodding

Has anyone claimed the position as Aburame Torune's Fanwhore of A/M/C?

If not, I call it.
Damn you Aburame Clan, with your sexy bug boys.

Well I'm an INFP (dreamer) and a Hufflepuff (hecks yesss), and that matches with what you have up there. Sounds good to me. And Snorkack, I wouldn't go so far as to start stereotyping the houses. Using a well-respected personality test and generalizing are two quite different things.

Just for the heck of it, I'll try to prove the point. While it's easy to call the brave and courageous kids the jocks, there are plenty of other [more common] outlets for that kind of personality, first and foremost in how someone interacts with friends.

Rich kids as Slytherins? Really? Money =/= personality.

The preppy Hufflepuff thing gets on my nerves, but that's probably only because I'm a Hufflepuff. "Just and loyal" doesn't quite scream stereotypical prep to me, not that there can't be any.

And Ravenclaws are intellectuals, not just nerds. They enjoy logic and learning, not just Dungeons and Dragons. The term nerd, I guess, is subjective depending on the person, however, so I won't go too far into that.

So I do like the idea that houses can generally be matched with personality types; mine, at least, seems to fit quite nicely. Good job!

How many times must a man look up
Before he sees the sky?
And how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
I came up as an INFP (Dreamer)... which catigorizes me as a Hufflepuff... but that's not right. Everyone and their DOG puts me as a Slytherin. And I'm finally accepting of that. smile

I'm an INTP, which puts me into Ravenclaw. I usually get sorted into Gryffindor, but I think Ravenclaw is the second most common one I get. Honestly, I have no clue which house I would be in. DX

This is certainly an interesting thread; much better than most of the "Which house would you be in" threads. It's nice to see a bit more originality, and I mean that with all sincerity.

I've taken several of the Myers-Briggs tests and gotten INTP on every last one of them (including, interestingly enough, a Harry Potter character test based off Myers-Briggs). And Ravenclaw is one of the two houses that I think the hat would be debating between, the other being Slytherin. (Interestingly the result for INTP on the Harry Potter test I mentioned was Voldemort. eek If you're interested, the quiz is here.)
