I Am The Snorkack
Interesting, although personally I think you got Slytherin and Gryffindor mixed up. Sure, if you look at the lables it seems clear, Protectors=Gryffindor, Creators=Slytherin. But if you read the whole thing, I think it's very much the other way around.
I agree, totally. Gryffindors don't strike me as people who are careful to plan their actions before doing them - Protectors are described as
not being impulsive which seems more like the opposite of Gryffindor's "go get 'em" attitude. The Creator's description fits Gryffindor much better, flexible, spur of the moment, laid back and open minded. The majority of Slytherins that we met in the series were brooding, uptight and exceedingly close minded, though carefully calculating an cautious.

Another thing I would like to point out: aren't the houses similar to high school cliques?
Gryffindor = Jocks
Slytherin = Rich Kids
Hufflepuff = Preps
Ravenclaw = Nerds (and proud!)
Where I went to school, the top three were all the same.
There are jocks in every house, accomplished jocks at that. You have plenty of nerds in Gryffindor (Ron should be president of the chess club! - and HELLO, Hermione and Percy!), as well as people who wouldn't be in that clique, Dean as the artist, Neville as the dunce, Lavender the obnoxious giggler and loudmouth, etc.
And not everyone in Slytherin was rich or close to it. Riddle himself was an orphan, and young Snape is described as wearing hand-me-down ratty clothes that don't fit.
"Prep" is such a vague term, and for me carries negative connotations. I find Hufflepuffs to be the "good people" minus a few stray pricks.
Ravenclaws are
smart but not necessarily all nerds. Cho barely strikes me as intelligent, much less nerdy, and may to better in the Jock category.
But that's just my take!
