We're fine that you like it, and JK does understand the pairing more than anyone, but don't tells us that that's that. JK said that H/HR was a possibilty. Well hun, I don´t know how things work over there, but over here usually admission to a college class (I think that´s the equivalent) is by grades: Higher grade choose first, and if there´s not place for somebody with a lower grade, too bad! Raise your grades and then talk. So if this chick is giving you grieve over something that´s not your fault (or would be, whatever) and isn´t able to respect your opinions if she disagree with you, along with the fact that you are an older fan, then maybe you really should tell her to get a new attitude or get new friends.

HermioneTwin So recently I discovered that my school will be having a Harry Potter Lit. Class and I was really excited because I need a sophomore lit and there it was. Then my friend who happens to be a late joiner of the Harry Potter fandom started getting all pissy because she wants in the class and refuses to allow people to talk about it so maybe the word won't get out. I get to register ahead of her because I am in the Honors and Scholars Program and we register ahead of everyone. She has been raging about if I get into the class and she doesn't she's going to be sooo pissed and be mad at me (cause that makes sense). Here's the kicker, she already has her sophomore lit covered and really doesn't need the class. She also enjoys making fun of my pairing choices because she is a H/G shipper and it hurts my feelings a lot of the time. So right now I don't know how to approach her and get her to stop being so insensitive. She's used to small!fandom and joined up Harry Potter humungo!fandom this past summer so she can be a slight fandom elitist and it aggravates me because I've been part of this fandom since I was 11 or 12 and I'm 19 now so I know the fandom and the books really well. Sorry for rambling and ranting, but I felt you guys may understand and I'm just really disappointed and annoyed right now.... sad I love being a Harmony shipper and it will never change that that's how I saw the books going and what I prefer. Why can't some people just understand that and not attack me for it?? Wanna know what I would do? If she doesn't get into the class, just stick your tongue out at her and go "Hahaha I win!" Of course, I'm a b***h. No, what you should actually do is say something along the lines of "Well, I'm sorry you didn't get into the class. But I think I would benefit more from it than you would. I'M not the one jumping on the bandwagon late." Or you could attack her for being a H/G shipper. Something like "Well at least my ship isn't practically incest. Seriously. I didn't think that was your thing." I'm not really giving good advice, am I? |
