The patronus thing, what about communication like the order use?
I wonder how that works, maybe patronuses (it's not 'patroni' is it?) are more independant? If they can be used for communication, even if it's just some sort of recorded message type thing, then they can probably be used for other stuff.

Perhaps.
I've always thought that they would have other uses to. It seems such a powerful spell, and it goes to waste warding off dementors and lethifolds which many witches and wizards will never encounter ...

I thought the Order just used Patroni/Patronuses (I like the 'i' one better. >.< wink to send messages like 'I'm here!', 'I'm lost!', 'I've got him/found him!', et cetera. There's no proof that they use it as anything other than a signal, like actually carrying an actual message like 'meet us at so and so place at so and so time. We've got an urgent situation to discuss.', although that would be wicked.

I do agree with Mrs. Voldemort as well. The Patronum is one of my favorite spells. It would be lame and wasteful for it to just be used to ward off two things. >.<
Yes, the Patronus is one of my favourite spells, along with Avada Kedavra and anything to do with transfigiration (that would be my favourite subject too. smile ) because I would always want to be able to become an animagus.
I would love the idea of being an animagus. I just know I wouldn't be able to. I'd get discourage way too easily trying to draw and that's not supposed to be hard. However, becoming an animagus IS hardwork. Even those good at transfiguration are advised to get extra lessons with their Transfiguration professor.

I think I'd like Defense Against the Dark Arts or Care of Magical Creatures the most.

The Patronus, the Serpensortia, Avada Kedavra, and the Cruciatus...I think those are my favorites. I can't remember if I have anymore favorites, but, yeah. ^^;;
I would love lessons on the Dark Arts, however I presume they don't really have lessons dedicated to learning in depth about the Dark Arts and how to use it.
That would be private study.

I would dedicate myself to being able to transform! smile

Yeah, obviously. The next best thing is defense against it though, isn't it? You can't understand the Dark Arts without knowledge of the defense and vice versa.

Transfigure. I think there's a difference, isn't there? Or at least there was this really complicated explanation in a fic and it was cool...And wow that person writes Tom Riddle amazingly.

I think transfiguring would be a first step into become an animagus, I mean it must be a great deal more difficult to transfigure into an animal than just change your human features for another humans features, because your bone structure and such is completely changing when you become an animal, like James for instance, his bones would form horns!
Serpensortia is so cool, I keep forgeting about it (mustn't).
And sectumsempra =D I think that transfiguration would be really fun, charms is good too .I love the spell hermione did with the birds, the random spells are very cool.
Accio would be damn useful whee

Yes. I associate 'transforming' with something like turning into a werewolf. That's really painful and takes a lot of energy. 'Transfiguration' is just telling an object to look like, act like, feel like, et cetera a certain thing and that's why you have to concentrate so hard on it. The object in question is still a mouse, even if it looks like a goblet, and the needle is still really a tooth pick, no matter what you're senses tell you. I don't think transfiguring hurts either, unlike transforming, otherwise, I doubt they'd be using the pets.

And you have to get rid of bits and add bits - some animals have more bone/less bone.
I'm sure some animals would be easier to become, but you don't get a choice. They've never described it as being painful have they? Unlike werewolves. Maybe there is a numbing part to the spell xd

I forgot Sectumsempra! That's a real favorite of mine too! Even if it almost killed poor Draco! D;

Yeah...Magic spells as a whole are just bloody awesome! whee

That's what I always worried about.
I would refuse to use my pet, or any animal for that matter because I would always worry about what would happen to the animal if I went wrong?!

Yes, I suppose so. That explains why animagus are able to keep their characteristics etc, unlike a werewolf who undergoes a complete change.
I couldn't imagine the pain of becoming a werewolf.
