I really don't see what's so wrong with the Hufflepuff house. If you just ignore the name, you'll be impressed by the fact that:
-Hufflepuffs make EXCELLENT finders
-Their mascot is the Honey Badger
-And it's said that Hufflepuff house had the mmost casualties during the final battle (meaning that Hufflpuffs are willing to lay down their life for the things they care about... Pretty heroic).

Go Hufflepuff! And that's coming from a Slytherin wink

I was utterly crushed for like 2 days, but...

I imagine that kind of random atrocity is something that would happen to me in real life at Hogwarts, so I'm going to assume the Sorting Hat was just adding depth to my character by putting a happy, cheery, hyper nerdy-type into Slytherin.
