I've been wondering about these few things...
If you can answer these, you're a true fan.

Why do some people become ghosts (Nearly Headless Nick), while others don't (Harry's parents)?
How does Harry know his birthday, when the Dursleys don't?
What's Hermoine's birthday?

I can answer two of those questions. All those who die are ghosts. Its just that some choose to stay where they are and some choose to follow the light.
An Harry remembers his birthday because the Dursleys Don't even bother to remember his.
