My absolute favorite pairing?
Neville Longbottom/Luna Lovegood.
All of that Hannah Abbott business
at the end of DH was a major
let-down for me. :[
I also enjoy:
Albus/Gellert
Snape/Lily
Snape/Me
Seamus/Dean
Hagrid's Magic Pink Umbrella/The Sorting Hat.
And I used to ship Blaise with a few
Hogwarts boys... Until I found out Blaise
was in fact not a girl, but a boy. D;
I really like Neville/Hannah.
She's SO good for him.
I never really....got Neville/Luna. Like...I can't see them getting past an awkward first date.
Neville/Hannah is awesome though.
Hey, I totally respect your opinion. 3nodding
Basically, I just think they'd be really cute and quirky together.
Plus, they both had parents taken away from them at a young age.
I think it would be really sweet if they found solace in each other.
I totally get them being good friends. But I don't see them having the communication for a decent relationship. Luna's too spacey and needs lots of excitement, Neville's too grounded and needs someone a little...warmer and more....social. -shrugs- I don't know. I just think Hannah is the perfect choice for him. I fell in love with them. -shrugs-
Opposites can attract. James and Lily were said to be two very different people, for instance.
To me, Hannah seems like one of those characters who can basically be anything
the reader wants her to be. JK didn't delve very far into her personality traits, so of
course it is easy to picture Neville with her. You're very passionate about them
being together, that's great for you. But in the end, it's just fandom parings.
(Many of which make little sense and are just for fun.) Does it
really make a difference who's personal preferences are
the "right" ones? Eveyone is going to like something
different. Neville Longbottom/Luna Lovegood
just happends to be what I like.
Goodnight.
Um...well...for starters, we know more about Hannah than most people seem to remember.
We know she's in Hufflepuff, that she was friends with Cedric, we know that she was very stressed out over her exams and deeply doubted herself (to the point where she had to go the the Hospital wing for the stress at one point, and then got so flustered she totally messed up her Transfiguration exam). We know that her mother was murdered by Death Eaters, but she STILL went back to school the next year. She was a DA member. She fought in the final battle. She seems to be talented in Herbology since she takes it at the NEWT level.
We can make some really meaningful inferences from that amount of information.
And this ISN'T a "fandom" couple. It's canon. Granted, I don't ship it because it's canon. There's lots of canon I don't like, and lots of non-canon I do. I', just pointing out that they aren't a fandom pair for the sake of accuracy.
Now, as for the "opposites attract thing", I should point out that while it is IMPORTANT to find someone who "completes" you as it were, it takes more than just differences to make a relationship. There have been several sociological studies that show a high positive correlation between similar values, core beliefs, communication types, and hobbies with strong marital happiness. "Birds of a feather flock together" after all.
So just saying that opposites attract isn't a good enough reason for me to ever ship something. It's far more important to have a ship where there characters involved can get their emotional needs fulfilled and have healthy communication.
So...you're allowed to like what you like of course. I'm not trying to cramp your style or whatever.
Just sayin.
