no i dont think they are...its just how most things go...also i think it would look kind of off if it was the other way around

Sigh...

Race will never, never stop being an issue as long as people keep looking for it. I respect your opinion, but I have to say I'm disappointed this issue was brought up. Way to add unnecessary tension back into what should be fun, logical, community building. I hope that something you read/hear/see can help calm your fears or lurking racism so that you can find enjoyment in an event so many people put time into designing.

IT'S FINAL EXAM/PROJECT TIME FOR THE LADY MARCH HARE!
So sorry if I'm not around! I'll get back to you ASP, promise!
Being an older individual of mixed culture ("race" is a misnomer), I didn't find the event "racist" in the least. The thought that it was a little sexist did cross my mind at one point, though....

I love how it always jumps to racism. Lollercakes.

wow, so many negative comments...people can be racist without intending to be.
but I don't think this event was racist

Here's a quote from my sociology book: "Only white people in our society [USA] have the luxury not to think about race every minutes of their lives. And only men have the luxury to pretend that gender does not matter.

As a woman who looks white living in an area that is predominantly Hispanic and Black, I'd have to say that I disagree with that quote. But I think it's the textbook author who needs to rethink, not you yourself.

Personally, I think the author is crazy...so maybe it was a bad idea to add the quote... :/

I'm thirsty for some pudding.

Let's see. Using your logic, Oreos are racist. Look at those two black cookies keeping the poor white creme captive.
There. Now nobody can go on Gaia or eat delicious snackcakes because they are both equally racist.

I don't think about gender every day. I don't freak out every time a man holds a door open for me because I think he's indirectly calling me weak. He's just being polite.

The only time we can be over this crap is when we either don't notice race or don't care. Personally, I really don't care. People are people. You'll notice that most white people who you ask about it... will say that.

I brought you some ammo.

its not racist. in my opinion

Always remember..........

They aren't being racist. If you find any racism in what they did, that just means your thinking waaaaaay to much into it.

for 1: you wearing the overseer or the sentinels: clothes, skin, etc is supposed to show how devoted and "fanatic" you are over your chosen leader, cause they are in a sense supposed to be cults so your supposed to be extremely devoted. and because your leader looks a certain way your just simply adopting that look too to show your loyalty.

2: they just happened to be those skin colors and also genders there is nothing racist in that. I think if it had been reversed you'd have had no problem with the colors of the skins. And then people who are light skinned could make the same argument and say they make all light skinned people out to be evil, which we all know is ridiculous.

3: There are darker skinned gaia shop keepers that were on B.O.O's side how does that make all dark skinned people evil?

The skins were to reflect your loyalty and devotedness to your leader (by copying their look) not for sending subconscious messages.
The only racist messages are in your head I'm afraid. If you look at it with commonsense you can see the "supposed" messages dissolve. Besides as long you know and everyone else knows the truth that there is in a sense evil in everyone and its up to the individual person/persons to choose to be good or evil isn't that enough?

Ok, but what about vampires? They're all light...pale, actually...very pale cus they're dead and yet people still fear them. And yes, I know love them as well...cus they're supposed to be all romantic. Bottom line is that when you hear the word "vampire" you think dark, evil, sinister, good looking, and frightening.

Realistically, vampires are NOT romantic. They are dead and emotionless.

I guess the 'sexy' is all about biting necks. But I'm sure if a vampire was real that would be about as sexy as a farmer breaking a chicken's neck... its just for food needs.

Finaly someone else that posted against that.

My Reply:
First Vampires aren't suppose to be romantic. Twilight ******** your mind up on that one. Vampires your their seductive powers to entice a feeble human's mind. Second Vampires don't see sunlight so their pigment becomes lighter and lighter. You would look the same if you never went out into light. your skin would become lighter, back to how... Read More it was close to birth or even lighter. Third your an idiot for even bringing this topic about and your deserving all these comments back.
Not to mention if you ever read into real vampire stories, they are portrayed from the shadows, and shadows are dark. They don't like the sun because it will kill them, unless they are day walkers. Their skin doesn't shine in the sun it disintegrates. Twilight has screwed up the story of vampires just so little girls and romance nuts can see a "vampire" and go, "Oh how cute."

Hell yes I'm a lore freak.

ROFLMBO!!!! Your assumptions are freakin hilarious!! blaugh you all actually think I'm one of those fan crazed girls of Twilight?! Haha, plz... Thats freakin funny, though, lol. Goes to show you don't judge someone before you get to know them. stare
