In case everyone hasn't realized, I posted this to stir up reactions from both sides and get everyone's opinions on things. I honestly have nothing against BOO or against SIN, and merely sided with the group I joined so that I had a side to discuss from and inspire the wonderful back and forth we got here.

And the reactions are about what I expected, with a few amusing variations.

Most of SIN joined because of the comics or knowing SIN was going to come out ahead.

Most of BOO joined because of... well, to put it bluntly, here's a quote from an awesome BOO member's sig: "Nudity for Great Justice!" or their other famous quote: "does it matter when you like clams?"

End result:
BOO loses the event. But a few fun members have a better time in losing than most of SIN has winning.

p.s. Sorry if I actually ruffled any feathers with my original post. Having taken several debate classes, I've learned the best way to get people active and discussing is to put them on the line and really push a bit. So I figured some fun banter and poking at BOO might accomplish this. And though a few people dove for my bait, I tend to agree with the facepalm post on page 3.

Go Naked Clam Guy! We're kicking your a**, but you're still running around naked!

My original post that stirred up this lively discussion is as follows:
Kayi Laa
Even before I started this event, I knew which side would win by a landslide if it was a fair event.

SIN is just too popular among heavy players, we don't want to be the frilly, ditzy good guys. The guys who wander around with a clam on their head, nude, because they aren't smart enough to get dressed. We're the gamers who dress in tight clothes and sexy armor, because we're awesome enough to pull the look off!

Worse than that, the "hero" of the BOO side went a step further, and scared off many of the more casual players. He did that by being a nude clam head... So suddenly all of your everyday gamers look at this and go "OMGWTF(udge)" and run screaming to join SIN just to get away from the BOO naked clam!

Here's a breakdown of who joined each side:
SIN
1) Heavy gamers that love going evil. (huge score-gainers)
2) Casual gamers that love the dark look. (moderate score gainers)
3) "nice" gamers, that were scared away from BOO by naked clam guy. (so-so scorers)
4) Anyone who stopped and asked themselves which side was sure to win. (moderate scorers)

BOO
1) Anyone who didn't read the comics and thought BOO was awesome. (low scorers)
2) Silly players who thought a naked clam guy was a great leader. (moderate scorers)
3) Cyberers who thought a naked clam winning would encourage cybering on Gaia. (low scorers)

A bit of this is guess work, but even guessing haphazardly, you can tell from the jump between "even" scores yesterday at 780 firings to today's score, now that admins who were rigging the scores started slacking off... SIN: +65 shots. BOO: +53 shots (after who knows how much tweaking before Admins gave up.)

Clear winner: SIN. Who should've been winning by a landslide the whole time.

If BOO still wins this event after seeing the score jump from last night to tonight, then we all know, it's only because the admins were cheating the whole time in favor of the naked clam guy.

Bad admins, bad. Telling us not to do naughty things in Gaia, then you go and expose us to huge clam p****.

Shame on you all.

surprised Sin for win

A Idealism way make person think bad reasons in Worlds
:l I joined BOO on my main because I, 1. like being the good guys 2. like being a passive aggressive and 3. enjoy the skin better

I read all the comics and wanted good to win D: The overseer is cool ; ; Look at his original form, they both started as innocents too.

I chose not even close to the reasons you gave.

That comic scene was the exact thing that shooed me away from B.O.O. XD

I think Gino being stalked around naked by the Overseer actually helped increase BOO's appeal to old-playing Gaians and to the people who enjoy the more relaxed, fun, and casual. Gino, naked, with a clam gnawing on his head. XD It's kind of funny.

I can see appeal to having joined either side, but BOO seemed to have a lot of stuck up pricks joining their ranks, so I joined SIN.

So I think there are many factors that go into it. One side may have more old-school players, the other team might have more dedication and spirit.

I also felt bad for Sentinel in the manga, so I joined her cause.

Wow, your reasons were completely ridiculous. o.o

I joined because really, I don't usually fight for the dark side.
Yes, the whole naked clam thing is completely retarded, but I just like the good side compared to thinking I'm badass for going against the grain and causing havoc upon the world, blah blah blah. XD
Plus, I don't think S.I.N's skin would really suit any of the items I own. OTL.

But please, don't judge us and group us into main categories.
Without someone to fight you, there would be no event. Yet you're somewhat insulting our intelligence here.

I'm not silly, I read the comics, and I abhor cybering.
Besides, the Overseers original younger form was pretty sweet looking, and when he's not a naked clam head, he makes for a rather wise looking leader.

Lol its funny cause.
I joined BOO cause SIN seemed to have a bunch of jerkasses, so I didn't want to join them even more. xD;

Oh, and not to mention the harrassment and idiotic behaviour that people from S.I.N showed towards me previous to even joining B.O.O

I must say, some people took themselves far too seriously, acted like complete asses, insulted me if I didn't do what they wanted, and generally just ruined what appeal there was left that I had towards S.I.N
D;

No offence, I'm sure alot of you guys don't act like that.. But that behaviour really put me off.

But.... isn't that the SIN skin? Thought they were soulbound. o_o

Recently hacked. Hope you're happy, jerk. Thank you Gaia Staff! I have my stuff back! ^_^

Uhh...what about people who joined boo mostly because they wanted to be on the good guy side? You read the comics. Sin is about demons taking over and destroying gaia. Maybe there are people that want to fight for justice rather than evil. ninja

And on the flip side, there are also folks who joined sin simply to be on the side of pure evil.

Both sides have casual to hardcore players. Lots of people spent hard earned gold to keep their side going.

Personally, I just think its silly to sell either side short, let alone put down anyone because of their choice in teams. neutral

Nice job at being bias and ignorant. I shouldn't be surprised though since this is how the majority of the S.I.N. players behave. ;D

You forgot to add.
SIN
5)Idiotic scene kids, punks, and wannabe goths who think "evil iz kool".
6) Dumb sheep who are siding with it because they think they have a better chance of winning.
7) Silly players who joined only because of Sentinel
cool Anyone who didn't read the comic and thought SIN was awesome

BOO
4)People who think evil is overrated.
5) People who know that a majority of SIN will be full of idiots and whiners and don't want to be grouped with them.
6) People who joined because they liked B.O.O's color scheme, prizes, and theme better.
7)People who want to avoid all of the noobs in SIN. (Also can refer to reason 5)

Same reason I avoided BOO.
It seems there are idiots on both sides who ruin the game for people.

I joined SIN cause I heard we were using a portal of evil against a crossbow... so... yeah.

Didn't read the comic, joined SIN cause I knew it's the safe bet.

People love to be the "bad guys." Just ask WoW players.

This is what I'm talking about, the perverted clam scaring away "good" guys, into joining SIN.

I completely forgot this in my reasons, because I didn't even think to add it. One more reason on the fire why SIN is clearly meant to win.

People who often claim to be "good" are usually the most arrogant, judgemental, and rude among us. I should add this to my post.
