I am very proud to bring you this event, and I hope you enjoy yourselves here! Please try and read all of the posts on the front page. They not only lay out the rules that we ask you to follow but also hold within them valuable information about the games that are being played here in this thread. PLEASE at least read the RULES and 1 MILLION RAFFLE posts completely.

The Rules
Please follow them!

This post will outline the rules of the thread. Please note that the Rules for the 1 Million Raffle will be in Post Six, rules for any Game currently being played will be in Post Seven. They will NOT be located here. It is your responsibility to seek the information in the separate areas.

Event and Thread Staff Karamelu Latte, Senator Kai and Loiish have the authority to give you a warning should you break any of the following rules. If one of them gives you a warning, it would do you well to heed it. Only Karamelu Latte can black list and/or ban you from the thread unless drastic circumstances of heinous rule breaking call for immediate action be either of the other Staff.

[ 1. ] RESPECT. Respect the Staff, respect the kind people who have donated towards this event, and respect each other.
[ 2. ] Please be sure to check the front page often. Information is bound to continue changing. Melu does his best to keep all information up to date every single day!
[ 3. ] Do NOT PM any of the event staff. If you have a question please ask it here on the thread. If you absolutely need to make sure someone sees your message than PM the event mule - Gishin Ookami.
[ 4. ] Please be literate when you post here. I understand some people aren't the most amazing spellers or the greatest with grammar but please do your best.
[ 5. ] NO DRAMA. Please don't bring your emo depressed mood with you, and for the love of all things good please don't come in here and post if your in a bad mood. No whining allowed.
[ 6. ] Please do not advertise in this thread. I will link out to other charities only... if you are interested in exchanging banners with me then send a PM to Gishin Ookami with your banner and link to your thread.
[ 7. ] Do not beg. If you are interested in getting a free item then I suggest you participate in the games that are made available to everyone on this thread.
[ 8. ] Please act mature. If you don't win something do not sulk or be a poor sport about it.
[ 9. ] Do not cheat. Do not cheat. Do not cheat. Just because this rule is near the bottom does not mean it isn't the most important. If you are caught cheating you will not only be blacklisted and banned from this thread but any Charities affiliated with this event will be notified of your actions as a means of warning.
[ 10. ] You can only win every other game played.
[ 11. ] Do not bump this thread. Ever. Try and make conversation with those who are currently on the thread. No one around? Wait for someone to show up. If I see anyone make a post containing only the word 'Bump' OR a post with only emoticons OR any other kind of nonsensical brain vomit when there is actual conversation going on you will receive warning.

The Schedule

To try and be sure that everybody has the best chance possible to win something and earn Raffle Tickets (see post 6) we're setting up a schedule for when SOME contests will be held. There will be 15 of them officially listed. These contest are more likely to last longer than a day, giving more people a chance to enter and try and win a prize. Other, smaller games will be run throughout the entire month in between the planned scheduled days but only the biggest of prizes will be given out during these official contests.

All contests or games listed on the schedule will end before or on the day of the next official contest day.

1 Million Raffle
Monay, monay, MONAY!

Yes it's true... one of the biggest prizes being given out here at this Charity Event is a whopping 1 Million Gold! FREE! There's a bit more of a catch to this than the other prizes, however... you've got to earn the right for a chance to win this baby.

This prize is being handed out not through a contest or a game... but through a raffle. Likewise... you cannot purchase a ticket. Instead those who are most active on the thread will win themselves the chance to win the big Mil.

The Winning ticket will be drawn on Halloween!

Raffle Rules

[ 1. ] Please do not cheat. Being caught doing this most heinous act will mean you'll be banned and blacklisted from the thread and have have any tickets that you may have previously earned revoked.
[ 2. ] For EVERY GAME that you enter you will receive 1 Ticket. Just because you won the last game and can't win a prize during the next one doesn't mean you won't gain a ticket. We encourage you to participate!
[ 3. ] Outstanding activity on the thread will earn you tickets! Your presence in the thread will be noticed by the staff and you may find yourself rewarded a few extra tickets from time to time. Your encouraged to stick around the thread and chat and have fun with the people hanging around!
[ 4. ] You cannot give your tickets to someone else.
[ 5. ] The winning ticket will be drawn on Halloween so try and earn as many tickets as you can in the time between now and then!

And if that wasn't enough ways to earn a ticket... if you ever see Karamelu Latte dressed up like so :

It means it's time for some BlackJack! Playing BlackJack with Melu can snag you as many tickets as he feels like giving out that round. When he's ready to start playing he'll make a post containing the words "Would you like to play a game?" Everyone who'd like to play a game of BlackJack with him will need to speak up and say so! After a certain period of time to allow anyone present who may like to get in line to play the games will start.

Melu will go down the list of players one by one. If the player wins they will receive the amount of tickets that was advertised in his post.

When playing BlackJack Melu will first deal a hand to the player. The player will then either decide to hit (have another card delt to them in an attempt to get closer to the goal number of 21) or stand (keep the cards they have). If the player has managed to not bust (go over the goal number of 21) Melu will then deal a hand out to himself and attempt to match or get a number higher than the player. If Melu draws (decides he won't draw any more cards and thus lose automatically) or busts then the player wins!

The first deal will roll a Random Number between 2 and 21.

Second and any deals afterwords will roll a Random Number between 1 and 13. In this roll Aces (1) can be high (11) or low (1) depending on what would be more beneficial. Cards 11 through 13 are considered face cards (Jack is 11, Queen is 12, and King is 13) and as such will be counted as a 10. These rules only apply to rolls after the first.

If you win you get the amount of tickets Melu advertised... if you lose you don't get any tickets!

Recruit! - Bring as many people to the thread as you can! Rules included that you do NOT advertise on threads if advertisement is not accepted but to keep a banner for the Charity within your signature for the three days that the event ran. When you got someone to come post on the thread, you had to be sure that they let us know who sent them!
Winner - HaruIsOnline won with 10 recruits, receiving the zOMSoundtrack Earphones as a prize!

Halloween Masquerade - What's October without Halloween and what's Halloween without COSTUMES!? Players were asked to create their own Halloween costumes and were allowed to make two entries each. We received a total of 33 entries!
Winner - HaruIsOnline won with her white tiger "Happy Meowl-o-ween" costume, winning a Thank You Letter for February 2005!

Scary Stories - We asked people to submit a scary story to the mule account. Story content was considered but players were also judged on writing ability.
Winner - Trialis wove a creepy story of murderers and ghosts, winning the Enchanted Book 2nd Gen!

Pretty Pretty Prince - Players were asked to come up with the prettiest outfit they could think of for Melu! Everyone could make two entries. With 29 people entering and 49 submissions total this is the biggest turn out for a game yet!
Winner - CuriousDeath made the prettiest outfit you ever did see, winner the Biancamella!

It's a Piece of Cake to Bake a Pretty Cake! - We asked everyone to submit us some delicious recipes involving pumpkins! If they didn't have a real pumpkin recipe, we asked that they just make up the craziest thing they could think of!
Winner - Sayonara Aishita gave a recipe for Pumpkin Ice Cream... delicious! It snagged her a Thank You Letter for June 2006!

Alien Invasion! - Aliens are invading! We asked that everyone entering give us both a description of the alien and the reason why it's come to earth. We invited people to write, draw, make a video recording, use pictures or ANY method that they had available to create their entries!
Winner : Artfully Devious' horrible aliens won her a Herme's Moon 2nd Gen!

Verification Validation - Using some of the random Verification codes that users are prompted to occasionally type in when posting, we asked players to write a short story no more than 1,200 words based around whichever two words they chose to use.
Winner - SemiSoulless used the prompt '1-billion rampant' in quite an interesting way, winning her the Gimpi.

Roots - We ask the age-old question... if you were a tree, what tree would you be?
Winner - Fathomless Fae declared herself a Pine and won the Padmavati's Lotus!

Restless Dreams - We all have something we're terrified of for some reason or another. Going outside, seeing spiders, seeing ghosts... I asked everyone to tell me what they were afraid of and give their reason why!
Winner - CuriousDeath's terrifying experiences with snakes has made her fear rather chilling, winning her the The Nightmare 6th Gen.

Terror from the deep - We asked players to write a story of horror about a water monster.
Winner - Simply Indescribable told a chilling tale, winning her the Seracila Pendant!

Creativity - Everyone entering could do WHATEVER they wanted to do... they just had to use their creative minds! They could write, draw, take a picture, make a movie... whatever! Just so long as they submitted something.
Winner : Mckrongs takes home the prize of a Reve Rouille 2nd Gen

Rhyme Time - You all know the classic trick or treat rhymes... I've asked everyone to make some NEW ones. Rules included that there HAD to be rhyming in the poem that you made.
Winner : CuriousDeath's poem won her the Hidden Ace.

Clash of the Titans - This is it! We've been waiting for Gaia's launch of their big event and now that it's been out for a few days we've asked players to write us a battle scene between the two factions! If a player was on the side of BOO they had to fight Rabbit, a member of SIN. If they were with SIN they had to fight Melu, a member of BOO.
Winner - Chobo Chevalier's writing won him the Fallen Wish 3rd Gen!

Pirates vs. Ninjas - Players had to write up a battle scene between the big boss of the opposite faction they were on. If they were a pirate they had to match wits with the cunning and quick Ninja Melu! If they were a ninja they had to try and best the swarthy and drunk Pirate Lo!
Winners - CuriousDeath won the Pirate's prize of a Captain Ara's Nestegg, monsterr mar won the Ninja's reward of the Orinkage Hurricane!.

Once Upon a Time... - Players had to write a bedtime style fairy tale. It could be about anything, based off of one that already existed or something completely unique!
Winner - Wolfhawk13 won the Red Riding Hood!

The Fondest of Memories - Players were asked to tell us their FAVORITE holiday and why it was!
Winner - Chobo Chevalier won the Sealed Letter (October 2009).

When Life Gives You Pumpkins... - You CARVE them! We gave players a pumpkin and asked them to decorate it for us! It could have a face or even a design on it!
Winner - Artfully Devious won a Sealed Letter (October 2009).

Bobbing for Apples! - We rounded up everyone on thread and had them bobbing for apples! The rules were everyone got three tries to roll a random number between 1 and 10. If they rolled a 7 or an 8 they got an apple and could move on to the next round! Lots of laughs and fun was to be had!
Winners - Sayonara Aishita, SemiSoulless, CuriousDeath and monsterr mar all won Sealed Letters (October 2009).
Everyone who roleplayed actually bobbing for the apples will receive art!

A familiar familiar - People were asked to come up with a summoning of a magical familiar for themselves. We invited people to do it in whatever manner they wanted, be it by writing poetry for an incantation to summon, a roleplay where they actually summoned their beast or otherwise!
Winner - SemiSoulless won the Summoning Tome.

Deck Designs - Kabu-Chan helped create this event! We asked that people either WRITE a description of how they'd decorate their lawn/front yard/porch area or DRAW it. Contestants were allowed to opt to do both if they really wanted to but only one winner from each catagory would be chosen to win a prize!
Winners - Beau Folie won for her written piece while monsterr mar won for her drawing... both received a Bad Moon!

If all the raindrops... - Contestants were invited to use whatever means possible to them to create an entry where they lured in and captured the every elusive, sweet-toothed Cecil!
Winner - Saffie-chan's entry was so full of candy that it won her the Cecil prize!

Zombie Apocalypse - THE ZOMBIES ARE COMING! Get some weapons, find some food, and hunker down in a safe spot! We asked people to tell us what they would do if a zombie apocalypse happened NOW! They were required to use the actual area surrounding their home in planning their zombie defense tactics.
Winner - Fathomless Fae had the best plan of action, winning her the Thank You Letter for October 2006.

The Cute Kitten Challange! - We love kittens. For this minigame we asked people to visit Youtube and find the cutest kittens they could and post it up in the thread. Rules included that the main focus of the video HAS to be a kitten and that it must be an actual kitten, not an older cat. Only real kittens were accepted. MAY THE CUTEST KITTY WIN!
Winner - Midnightangel2473 showed us the cutest little kitten ever, winning her the Thank You Letter for June 2008.

Monster Mash - We had everyone express their undieing love for their favorite monsters.
Winner - AlmightyBlueCrayon won with his awesome love for the classic green lizard, snagging himself a Thank You Letter for Oct 2008.

Hide and Seek! - We ran into towns to play this game! Everyone had to hide in the BLOCK where Melu's house is located. The rules included that you MUST have some part of your avatar showing!
Winner - Midnightangel2473 was the master of hiding and won herself a Thank You Letter for Sept 2006!

Monster Mash part DEUX - Everyone took their favorite monsters and BATTLED it out Kaiju Big Battle style against each other! Players were asked to roleplay out their attacks to make things more interesting.
Winner - Chobo Chevalier with his Poltergeist had it out with the rest and stood triumphant! His prize was the Thank You Letter for October 2007.

Confection Companion - Everyone was to chose an animal and their favorite dessert to splice together to make the sweetest pet they could dream up!
Winner - Hanakima Ai's sweet entry won her a Thank You Letter for September 2009!

Ghost Hunting - We've had you write about monsters, we've had you write about zombies! Time to make you write about ghosts! We asked everyone to submit an entry about what they would do if they had to spend a night in a haunted house.
Winner - Beau Folie wrote a creepy little tale, winning her the Thank You Letter for September 2009!

Rabbit Doubt - It's a game of finger pointing! Who dun it! Played with bunnies and wolves, so it's cute.
Winners : monsterr mar and Wolfhawk13 won on Oct 23rd, earning 10k Gold each.
AlmightyBlueCrayon won on Oct 24th, receiving the Bad Moon 3rd Gen as his wolf's prize.
E t h e l o s, CuriousDeath, and Artfully Devious won on Oct 26th, receiving 10k Gold each.

Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai
100 Scary Stories

A game played in Japan, mostly during the Edo period. People would gather together in a single room where 100 blue, paper andon lamps would be lit. They would all take turns telling Kaidan, stories of the strange, mysterious, and supernatural. After each story is told a lantern is blown out until all 100 lanterns have been extinguished. Legend says that once the 100th lantern is blown out a demon will appear...

It is my wish to be able to collect 100 stories... and I'd like all of you to help. Is there a ghost story unique to your town or state? Do you have a personal story of something weird or strange that's happened to you? Do you feel like making up your own scary story?

Send any stories you have to Gishin Ookami and you'll get to pick out an Ao-Andon to be personalized! Put it in your signature or someplace else to show everyone you've participated!

Please do not give me any Urban Legend stories. You know what I'm talking about... the man with a hook for a hand, the story of picking up a hitchhiker along the road, etc. If you feed me one of those stories I'm afraid you won't be given an Ao-Andon.

You are free to give me as many stories as you want to... each time you give a story you'll receive an Ao-Andon with the number story you've given me! Please Note! There WILL be a Scary Story contest where you can win a prize! You CANNOT recycle a story you've given to me for Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai... please keep this in mind before submitting a story.

This is where you don't want to be. Being black listed means not only are you banned from posting here on this thread (or the one to be made when the official Gaia Halloween event forum is created) but any charity whom is affiliated with this thread will receive a PM warning them of your actions. Any tickets that you may have earned will be revoked. If anyone on this list posts negatively on this thread after being banned and asked not to return they will be reported to a mod immediately.

The thunderhorse : For the breaking of game rules and advertising on another person's thread when it was unwanted. For refusing to respect the request of others and continuing to post on the thread despite being asked to stop. pharaohs_sister : Instigating negative behavior. Being suspect of being Darks Angel forever1 using another account to speak through.

Darks Angel forever1 : Showing poor sportsmanship when other people have won. Accusing a Mod of rigging the games. A severe break of rule number #5 on page one, post 2.

*L.A.* - Sealed envelopes for 15k
Who else remembers the good old days when Sealed Letters contained Monthly Donation Items and were on the Market for 15k a pop? This group may not be a Charity in the sense that they give away free things but they are outstanding members of the community in their attempt to distribute an item rapidly inflating in prices at a fair cost.


One person, one cause. Kabu-Chan has 10mil and it's just BURNING a hole in her pocket... except the items she's buying aren't for herself, they're for everyone else. Her Quest is actually to give out rather than try and gain.
