Haiti vs. Chile

Here's a good question: although Haiti was a disaster, doesn't Chile deserve some recognition as well? Some people don't even know there was an earthquake in Chile, and Chile's earthquake put Haiti's to shame.
On February 27th at 3:30 AM, my family in Chile was hit by an 8.8 earthquake. Imagine Haiti's earthquake, but with double the death and destruction.

Because it's not as big in the media, not as much people care. It's pretty much the same thing with celebrities; if the singer from Nirvana or some other band blows his god damn brains out everyone's in ruckus but nobody cares about people who haven't made themselves famous. Etc.
