Space, the final Frontier...

And indeed it is... Those words are so truly spoken, and give mankind hope for the future. If you recognize where they come from, then you definitely will like this Guild.

I guess I got carried away in the excitement...

Allow me to introduce myself, I am Ryugi Kazamaru, proud owner of Star Trek: New Frontier, a Star Trek role play taking place in the "Beta Quadrant." This guild allows for a massive role playing environment where you can be whoever you want to be. From being a humble citizen on Beta Cestus III, to being a prisoner in a penal colony, to being the captain of the most powerful starship there is out there, you have the right to rise among the ranks and obtain your wildest Trek-based dreams!

We don't make you do what we want you to do (as long as you follow some simple, and easy to follow rules). You can choose to undertake a mission to earn valuable credits or set out on your own to explore the Beta Quadrant. You can choose from four different governments, three of which have 10 of their own unique ships. But, guess what else. Each faction has their own set of personal upgrades, some of which only the members of those factions may obtain! Keep reading to learn more.

Table of Contents:
1) Factions
2) Ships
3) Upgrades
4) Missions
5) Role playing
6) The Beta Quadrant

1)Factions:

In Star Trek: New Frontier. You may choose from several major factions that are always seen interacting with one another, fighting with each other, or just fighting someone. The four different Factions to choose from in this Guild are as follows:

1) Federation
2) Klingons
3) Romulans
4) Independent

The Federation, Klingons, and Romulans have their own starting amount of credits, ships, upgrades, and more that are only purchasable by members of their own faction. This allows you to easily manage your ship if you want to upgrade it. The more credits you have, the bigger of the ship you can buy, the stronger weapons you can buy, and better upgrades you can buy.

If you choose Independent as a faction, you forfeit some abilities, but gain others too. Although you cannot buy the more powerful ships, weapons, and upgrades, you can mix and match any available upgrades from any of the factions, creating a truly powerful and devastating ship customized to fit your own needs.

When choosing your faction, be careful, you cannot change (in most cases). Also, be aware that if you join a certain faction, you may find yourself fighting one of the others or allying yourself with another. Not to mention that you may become outnumbered and outgunned if your enemy brings in bigger and better guns. Just remember, you always have warp, and even if you don't, backup is only a distress call away...

As a little addition, I'd like to clarify something about factions. While usually you can't change factions, some NPC-type characters may offer you the chance to work for them, allowing you to change your alliance. However, this can only be done if you are actively engaged in the main storyline, or happen to come across them in the RP. This opens up all kinds of new possibilities for one to expand on their role-playing fun!

2)Ships:

In Star Trek: New Frontier, as I mentioned before, the Federation, Klingons, and Romulans have their own special ships. Each of these three factions has a total of 10 ships that you may choose from.

Everyone of these ships have been accurately detailed, researched, and recorded (with some minor edits for fairness). You'll already find that Hull Strength, Shield Strength, Engine Strength and more already recorded under the ships picture for you! How nice! In addition, their amount and type of weapon(s) are already there, too. The hardest part of your job is already done, you lucky dog!

Just remember, when you are choosing your ship, keep in mind that you have a budget. Even though you start out with a small amount of credits, keep the future in mind! Try and pick the best balance of weapons, shields, hull and price tag. This way, you'll keep a little bit of credits in your pocket after picking out your starship.

Now, ant canon nut (like myself) will say, "Hey! The Federation doesn't use money anymore! How can you give out Credits to buy things?" Well, simply look at "Credits" as experience points that you can use to upgrade your ship and its parts, and even "buy" new ships. of course, once you've used them, you have to get more, but the idea is basically the same.

3)Upgrades:

This Guild would be pretty dull if you purchased a ship and warped around just doing missions n your normal, default, ship. Wouldn't that be boring? Well, luckily, you don't have to after you've amassed some credits. Trick it out with upgrades!

The Federation, Klingons, and Romulans have over dozens special upgrades that are unique to their faction and their faction alone. Each race has weapon upgrades, shield upgrades, and hull upgrades. While certain aspects of ships can only be upgraded because their faction allows it to be done.

Or, perhaps you've looked at a Klingon Disruptor cannon and said, "Man, that would look good on that Federation starship!"

Well now, you can do exactly that...sort of. Independent people are the only ones that can do this. Take a Klingon Disruptor Cannon and put it on a Federation Ship with Romulan Torpedoes! See what I mean? There are hundreds of fearsome combinations out there that can cause a mere Danube Runabout to be quite a nasty little ship...

4)Missions:

Instead of having you purchase a ship with upgrades and fly around and do nothing, the guild Captain (me) has come up with the great idea of having Missions. These missions allow a member to complete a variety of tasks that benefit the Guild as a whole, as well as the mission-goer themselves.

Things that a Mission does:
1) Earn Credits
2) Open up new Planets
3) Open up new Missions
4) Create Battles and Conflicts
5) Expand/Continue the Storyline
6) And many more things!

As you can see, not only do you get paid for cruising around in your own ship, you can sometimes fight other people or NPCs and create new planets! These missions allow you to entertain yourself if you ever get bored or if you are waiting for a friend to join the Guild so you guys can go and duke it out in the middle of space. Character/Character interaction is something we cherish in the guild.

5)Role Playing:

Basically, this is almost self-explanatory. Except for a few main parts.

First, when you role play in the Guild, you must realize that other people are probably going to be reading your posts, so, try and make them understandable.

Second, there are many places you can role play. On your ship, in a battle, on a starbase, in a starbase, around a starbase, observing a battle from a distance or under cloak, in a nebula, or just plain exploring or warping about.

Battles occur in a way that may appear confusing at first. It was confusing to me at first, too. But, it is remarkably simple. You just use your ship's stats that are so conveniently given to you when you purchase your ship. You roll for the weapon systems you are firing, some simple math occurs that you can easily do with a calculator that you can find on your computer, and then you do damage to your opponent.

Just remember, if you are losing a battle, its never too late to warp away and escape! Unless, you're already dead!

When you are exploring, it would never take a full 68 days in real life to travel 68 days in the role playing atmosphere. You would basically do what I like to call 'Crunch' time. You would 'crunch' it into a reasonable amount of time and role play yourself completing that time. Trust me, its simple...

6)The Beta Quadrant:

This, is your role playing environment. It is about 20 sectors by 20 sectors for a grand total of 400 possibly sectors to explore! This is truly, a massive amount of territory to explore, fight in, role play in, and whatever you want to do, even when 'crunching' time!

There are already about a dozen planets in the Guild's Quadrant map, which can be found in the Guild. In addition, there are two starbases, one or two nebulae and a whole lot of nothingness in between. So, its up to you and you alone, to explore this. Don't make us have all the fun! We want you to have some fun, too. So, what are you waiting for? Join!

Even if you don't like Star Trek, please, we encourage you to spread the word of this Guild around to all your friends and their friends and their friends. Even if you just wanna talk and maybe role play on a starbase, come on in! Most of us don't bite! Even if we do, most of us don't bite hard!

So, if after all of that you're still interested and looking to join, click the banner below to go to the guild and request permission to come aboard. We'll be waiting for you!

Live Long, and Prosper...
