There were numerous version of the bible. A group of religious leaders got together and combined them to make what sounded best to them.

Hence why I believe the bible is a bunch of folk tales all bound up and prettified.

Well if you want to go Biblical about it, then technically satan wanted to become GOD, and GOD wouldn'dt have that so he kicked him out of heaven.Basically satan wanted power, and he already had power, but not as much as GOD did.
