I would not partake in it, do to me having a rather low pain threshold, but I do like the idea of giving of being someones (for lack of a better word) play thing. I don't enjoy seeing it much, I don't wanna hear the screams of people in pain. ._.

It's a lifestyle choice that is definitely NOT for everyone. And yes, it absolutely can go to extremes and there are some people who use it as a front for abusive behavior. However, I think that if two consenting ADULTS want to explore that kind of lifestyle, more power to them. As long as both are on board one one isn't just "taking one for the team" and there are safe words, boundaries and rules firmly in place before hand it's okay. Yes, it has a stigma, is definitely NOT the norm, and is still very very underground and looked down upon by the general population. But you would be surprised who is into that kind of lifestyle. More than you even realize. but the time a person reaches the age of thirty, whether you know it or not I'll bet any amount of money that you'll run across or know someone who secretly participates in the lifestyle. People that just to look at you'd NEVER in a bazillion years think that they'd be into S&M. But they are... and for a variety of reasons. Some valid, some curiosity, some are looking to fix something in their relationships, or replace something they''ve missed. And some just find whatever roll they play (top or bottom) to be erotic. I don't think it's something you can place to many generalizations on.

It's usually just for fun or exploring new areas of one's personality *nodnod* I was interested in pony play - mainly the show-pony aspect - because I've always loved feeling pretty, and ever since I was little I just adored crawling around and pretending I was a pony in a show or an animal in the zoo whee I don't really know why, but that feeling made me very happy! While neither my slaves nor I are into pony play we do have friends who are. When they're playing she wears a bridle and bit specially made for her, blinders so she can't see anything that's not in front of her, a butt plug that is a horse's tail, and a minimum amount of clothing tat is little more than leather straps covering her breasts and v****a.
